CNN just had three women on who had health issues and how it affeted them.

They were talking about obama's town hall and healthcare. I missed most of it i think. When I came in, the one woman was talking about her child needing stitches, and her removing them herself with a staple remover because she couldn't afford to take the child back to the doctor to have them removed. The middle woman was apparently a tv anchorwoman who found out she had breast cancer right before she went on the air. She said she did have insurance, but it didn't cover everything. And she had to take ambien because of the medicine she took, but the insurance wouldn't cover it and it was over $100! She was on disability as she obviously needed to take care of her cancer, so her income was a lot less but she still had costs she herself had to incur. Her mother apparently helped her some financially. She is now not at that job anymore as an anchor, and she says it is a struggle to get insurance.

Then some guy sent in a message on twitter. It was something about asking any of the guests if they watch what they ate or something like that. Like, of course. Their problems must be self inflicted. So the one doctor lady on their discussed prevention and how the insurance companies will pay $20k to remove a foot from diabetes, but won't pay for keeping up with diabetics to make sure they are taking care of themselves. SHe then reiterated that prevention should be more of a priority.
