1. LBJ was president when I was school-aged.
I don't think I would have wanted a note from LBJ with a couple of tickets to "come see my scar from surgery" in the envelope.

3. Speaking of Nixon, I just found my 6th grade autograph book
and a little boy named Andy had written:

4. JFK was pres when I was in grade school, and I'd have been thrilled
or at least I would cherish the letter now. I was rather apolitical as a child, more interested in riding my bike and catching frogs at the pond.

5. I was in cub scouts when JFK made a trip
to Houston. My mom was the Den Mom. All of us cub scouts and boyscouts lined up as an honor guard alng each side of the road leading out from the airport. I'll never forget his hair.
