3. Don't give her any sympathy...
She really doesn't deserve it. Always remember who chose to bring those kids out onto the campaign trail. They are nothing but props to her, and if you give in to your sympathetic feelings, she will have succeeded again in using them as props.

she's secretly sold Alaska's soul (what's left of it) to the Devil Exxon.

6. yeah in the same way if the obama children are attacked i shouldnt have sympathy
im sorry but every politician brings their family on the trail, i dont leave my principles at the door just because of letters after teh politicians name, and a lot of other people will be the same, you attack someone elses children you may as well attack their children. People dont like it.

that Sarah has. There is no comparison.

13. you think so, i dont, i think all politicians put their families up there for us
i try to seperate the politician and any animosity i feel for them from their family, you can chose your friends but not your family. I find the justifying the abuse of the Palin daughters as bad as the original bad taste joke.

Edited on Thu Jun-11-09 04:51 PM by Blue_In_AK
because Ms. Palin (unfortunately) is my governor and I know the games she plays. She is a grifter and a fraud, and in my opinion everything about her is fair game.

mayby you have a different viewpoint for that reason, my reason is as a father i dont like to see
the kids being attacked due to who their parents are, hell my kids would stand by me if i ran for office does that mean you then have the right to attack them, im sorry but it engenders a lot of sympathy from me, and turns me totally against the attacker, as i said i dont care what initial is at the end of the pols name when it comes to their kids being attacked.

21. And, again, had she left the kids at home
and not continued to this day to exploit them (i.e., Bristol's picture on the cover of People with Tripp talking about abstinence), I would agree with you 100%. I have children, too, and grandchildren, but were I to run for office, I would keep them completely out of it.

53. I don't think so, at least not in the way Palin does
Edited on Sat Jun-13-09 02:18 PM by DeschutesRiver
Obama's kids - brief glimpses, and otherwise a serious effort to keep them out of harm's way. I learned after the fact of the election that John McCain had a son or two in the military (still not sure). I don't even know the names of the kids of the Kerrys, or the Edwards, etc.

Actually? Other than Palin's kids, I am not sure I know much about the immediate families of most candidates or politicians, other than I am sure I saw them briefly once or twice, and that was it. Not counting the ones who've willingly made adult choices to be poltically active, like Chelsea Clinton, or Megan McCain, etc.

Palin has taken this to a new level of indecency, in that she is using them to promote her career in garish ways, while protesting anyone else's right to take her and them apart on the issues she herself is raising with them. Like thowing your kids out there as bait, and then acting indignant and poutraged when people point out the obvious, say the obvious, ask the obvious questions. God, I was sickened to hear that young kid's own father, Todd, getting off by pretending to be incensed about something that was never said, made a public statemente re "the raping of his daughter Willow" - holy shit, the sickest stuff that has been said about her children, from the start of this last year, has been said by Palin and her family members.

There is a way to shield children of public figures. Palin isn't interested in doing it. It is solely under her control, and up to her to stop it. Palin expects to get exactly what she is getting from this, so if it is okay with momma, then it is okay with me.

ETA: Here's a thought for Sister Sarah - immediately drop all mention of your offspring. No more mentioning them ever. Then put forth your promised energy program that involves AK helping the rest of the nation with this energy crisis, you know, the plan you said you had while running for office. Knock it out of the park - do what you said, and solve the crisis because remember, you have a plan already. Let's hear it, then have serious national debates on the pros and cons. Everytime you are tempted to start a tabloid surge of interest in your sordid affairs, just stop right there and talk energy. Today Show? Thanks matt, for asking about Willow - she is fine! Now back to the more important issue - my finalized plan to solve the nation's energy crisis and boost AK's potential. Rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat as necessary. Every other polititican of note has done the same when bad stuff comes up from their personal life - get the real issues back on the table, pronto. Not showing up in every gossip rag, on every morning and evening msm crap show, indulging and rolling up to your eyeballs in this unseemly behavior.

Not. Going. To. Happen. Ever. She is what she is, and that is not someone who is planning on going anywhere soon or becoming a politician of note or holding a higher office. Ever.

33. Sure He Does
The only difference is, you like him, and you don't like her. But they have both used their children as props many times.

I never thought I'd have anything halfway decent to say about Bush, but he didn't exploit his kids NEARLY as much as Obama and Palin do. Granted, his twins aren't as cute as Obama's girls, and he's just a tad less sleazy than Palin, but I think he did a decent job of keeping them out of the public eye...until they brought attention on themselves by snorting coke and drinking their asses off.

and especially with all this Letterman sideshow nonsense. She always creates all these little diversions as she goes about her nefarious ways. And to see that Mark Begich is kissing her ass on this really burns me up.

You KNOW this isn't going to do one little thing to help Alaska with its energy issues.

well, cant believe its okay to use bigoted terms to desribe people we disagreee with but theres conniption fits if its the other way. Personally i hate michele obama, dont know why just something about her kills me, but im not going to attack her kids or family just because i hate her.

12. The only people that actually like her are the most depraved of the base...
... and the media that love the train wreck aspect of her. She is not taken seriously by anyone but the GOP base. Everyone outside of that 20-30% thinks she is a walking punchline.

The only reason she stays in the news is because she is a train wreck, yet the GOP has to take her seriously lest they piss off the base.

But when she talks it hurts her. But she's more interested in using the governor's office to go after her grandson's father, than actually helping the people in the floods.

She's failing the good citizens of Alaska, she'll be hard pressed to make reelection. And if she's not governor, she won't make it far into the national scene.
