1. I love the little girl's request to Santa...
"All I want is a simple rubber ball."

"Sorry, honey, I ran out of those giving them to kids in the Middle East."

3. I was looking for one strip in particular (have not found it yet)
Where a nut case walks into Milo Bloom's desk with a letter to the editor.

Nut: Here, I want to submit this letter to the editor.

(About the second amendment)

Nut: You can take my gun when those commies pry my cold fingers, got to protect my, when guns are outlawed, oh my constitutionals... Anyway, it's all there in the letter.

Milo: Verbatim.

4. Here's a true story....
Mid 1980's, and my youngest son is on a serious race to the bottom of the grade curve.
Just could not focus on school.
He trucks into the house one day and shows me an A on his history test.
I asked him how he performed that miracle.
Turns out he had been reading all of my Doonesbury and Bloom County books.
And I have them ALL.

he's 40 now and in college, microbiology.

My compliments to your parenting!

My children were also allowed to explore our library.

One is an MS/CS, another is an RN, and the younguest is attending art school.

7. I am flattered, and happily accept your compliment.
Both sons are truly quite intelligent, independent thinkers, and early on refused to buy into the sheep mentality.
I am especially proud of the last trait.

10. I remember that one, too
And the editor, when approving a story -"It's HOT. It's JUICY! RUN THAT BABY"

And Opus saying "Let me run it by our Hot 'n Juicy lawyers first"
