More evidence that I'm living rightly (despite all other evidence to the contrary)
Edited on Sat Jun-13-09 07:52 AM by Fly by night
Good morning. Living the way I do (on the cusp between the reality-based world and the Great Mystery), I always look for signs that I am living rightly. One piece of evidence that occurs over and over again happens in my Garden. Whenever I am planting long rows of vegetables (like beans or corn), I am often gifted with a sign that I'm living rightly when the last seed I have left to plant from the seed packet falls neatly into the last spot on the last row I am planting. Not too many, not too few -- just the right amount.

I had a similar "planting seeds" moment early this morning on DU. Yesterday I posted in the "General Discussion" forum a research summary by Paul Armentano (from the NORML web-site) about our government's suppression of evidence that cannabinoids function as an effective chemotherapeutic agent against a number of cancer cell lines. Here's a link to the thread: (It is entitled: "More needless deaths in the war on drugs: govt-suppressed evidence that cannabis kills cancer cells")

When I posted the thread yesterday, it was voted pretty quickly to the "Greatest" page, where it remains this morning. (Thanks kindly, all y'all.) As we all know, getting to the "Greatest" page here can greatly increase the readership for any thread since it is more likely that our 140,000+ DUers will see it, as opposed to staying buried on one of our 100+ forums.

Well, this morning at 5:00 am when I checked the thread to see if there had been any new comments posted there, the "General Discussion" home-page count for the number of viewers for my thread showed the number ..... 420. That was (apparently) just for my eyes because, as always, the count changed immediately. But while it was still there on my screen, I captured the image on paper.

Living rightly and fighting for the important things (the honest, the truthful, the nurturing things) -- now, that is its own reward.

It has to be.

Have a good Saturday, all y'all. Be happy.

3. Yes, the sage and cedar on the western wind, and the sweet voice of the Goddess in middle night ...
... are quite sustaining.

Sorry you're not close enough to come to my Gratitude picnic today. Lots of friends, lots of food (including green and red cabbage coleslaw, onions, snow peas, romaine lettuce and spearmint and lemon balm sun-tea from the Garden; and black raspberries, wild blackberries, mulberries and the first blueberries from the ridge), and even a few of Nashville's most prominent singers/song-writers (think "Little by Little" -- Doobie Brothers) coming to my deep, dark holler. A good time will be had by all.

Sorry all y'all can't be here. Maybe next year. Freedom is a precious thing to celebrate every year. (Every moment).

5. As don Juan would often say
in the Castaneda books, when observing some synchronistic sign or event, "THAT was an agreement".
