Infection
Humanity has a disease
Infection
Festering rot
Terminally ill
No resurrection
No last confession
Driving obsessions

Gangrenous limbs keep working
Simple or spoiled pursuits
For all the end still lurking
Ash and the dust
Leaving nothing but rust
If it's only in God we trust

Systems will fail
Bled out and cold
Life traded for gold
Killing like a virus
Leaving waste behind us
Skin gone hard and pale.

Antibiotics too weak
Immunity to health
Wounds starting to leak
No cure yet, but still we seek
Infection spreading
Pain running deep
Heal it now
Or we go to that final sleep

1. Truths told in a dark house. And told well. I love poetry and trust
people who write it.

Thank you.

2. Good stuff. You are not 'schizophrenic' in a bad way...
(in reference to your previous OP) I have worked with schizophrenics in mental health settings for many years, and I have to say in many ways they are amazing. They will have insights into big picture things that border on seeming psychic in their accuracy, then have problems with every day things. So really, its just a different way of thinking, of being. Its powerful, its voice of the shaman, the healer of society and that creator of culture. The disease in its negative forms always deals with self obsession in some form, the inability to see or consider others. The division of the world into "me" and "them" in ways that cuts off parts of your own mind and puts it in the "them" group. For whatever reason, its an occupation hazard of the shamanic mindset, and its what's properly called a mental illness. But if you keep your heart loving of other people, "schizo" mind is beautiful mind. Remember that.

3. And that's the best way I've ever heard it described
Sorry this response is late but thank you very much. That all rings so true about me.
