There is this thing - you should know - I learned.
See what happens now - the kids have orders that whenever they fire their guns - bullet by bullet - they have to report it. Every shot.

It sounds inoccuous - not to me - But I understand why it could.

And here is the problem - when they are attacked they will have very little time to react. Is the first thing you want going thru your kids mind at such a time protecting themselves or that report they will have to file for shooting back?? And they don't get a second chance in the thing.

I know there is a breaking pointing the military - a group - like any other group - that just want to get promoted - and they will do it standing on your head if they have to.

See I have this picture in my mind of those officers - bending over and saying "Please sir, may I have another" - you know what I mean?? So much worse than just incompetent.

And in this matter - it will be our kids that pay. This is about the worst "cover your ass" thing I ever saw.

I don't think the odds are so great anyway for the kids - this is so over the top stupid.

Joe

4. OUR kids - they are all our kids. Every one of them.
They are as a country. American kids - you know - the kids that did 12 months or more training to go in the first place.

If I was not clear in the first place, I apologize. I hope I am now.

6. Was thinking more like, cops, soldiers, war, which war?
I did not think the problem Americans had in Iraq and Afghanistan was a reluctance to shoot and kill people. Maybe I'm wrong. That's fine if I am.

7. They are getting those orders.
They are not getting decided by the kids - they are getting decided by some asshole trying to make Bird or bridager - really.

And every one - soldier or not - is very reluctant to kill another human being. But that is kind of what their life depends on too.

2. dysfunction from the top down
leaving the "kids" handicapped as hell. I so wonder the impetus for these orders. It cannot possibly be to save money, so what then?

3. Could just be window dressing.
And the Troops may know that.

More layers of BS on top of layers of BS. It's as though the whole f-----g country has turned into Stephen Colbert.

5. They see kids get dressed down for it.
Kid on guard fires into a noise at night (on an American base) - and get this treatment.

It is real.

They are really doing this to them. I went into shock when I really realized it was real.

Tell you - I trust those GIs a million times more than I trust those officers. At least that.
