Pneumonia in the summer SUCKS. Insurance sucks...
I have Pneumonia. I got sick after our cruise and thought it was just a bad cold because hubby kept the temp so cold in the room on the boat and in the hotel. but it has been two weeks and I am not better so I went to the ER Monday and after x-rays they said I had pneumonia and I could stay home and it bed or be admitted to the hospital. I am trying to do as they say because I would rather be at home than in the hospital.

good to have insurance but it still cost me 250 bucks out of pocket because I chose to go home and not be admitted. Had I allowed them to admit me, I wouldn't have had to pay...how fucked up is that

1. You poor thing. What a lousy time of year to have pneumonia.
In one way you're lucky though. At least they haven't figured out a way to charge you for staying at home in your own bed. Get well soon!

3. My husband had pneumonia a year ago
It was awful! He thought he had appendicitis at first because of the location of the pain. It also took 11 months for the hospital to figure out how to properly charge the insurance company for the emergency room visit and the tests. It was covered, with a deductible, but took a long time for them to get right.

We really need a better system.

Take it easy, you won't get over this in just a couple of days. It was a couple of weeks before my hubby got back to resembling normal last year.

4. Stay hydrated and in bed.
I really hope you feel better soon!

At least one of our asthmatic kids gets it every year in February or March, but typically we get it early. One year we had contagious pneumonia and passed it around to 3 of us in the family, then back again to victim #1. NOT a good thing!
