Sailors steal McDonald's statue

Two Royal Navy sailors from HMS Manchester have appeared in court in Chile after they stole a life-size statue from a McDonald's restaurant.

A judge at the court in Valparaiso fined the pair £350 for damage to a plastic figure of Ronald McDonald, said a Ministry of Defence (MoD) spokesman.

HMS Manchester had arrived in the Chilean port on Monday and the sailors were arrested later that day.

The MoD said: "As far as I am aware they threw the statue in the harbour."

4. I'm more disgusted that there is a McDonald's in Chile

Damn it, if I pay good money to go to some foreign country, I want it to be foreign, OK so air conditioned but foreign, ok so with normal toilets but foreign. Got it, I want it to be completely foreign except for air conditioning, normal toilets, safe drinking water, and police that aren't corrupt. I reserve the right to amend statement at a later time.
