Congress to look into testimony by Sammy Sosa

1 hour, 38 minutes ago
WASHINGTON (AP)—A congressional committee will look into former baseball slugger Sammy Sosa’s denial that he used illegal performance-enhancing drugs in light of a report that he tested positive for a performance-enhancing drug in 2003.

The chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, Democratic Rep. Edolphus Towns of New York, says that the committee takes seriously suggestions that a witness had been misleading.

Towns said in a statement Wednesday that he will determine the appropriate steps following a review of the matter.

In 2005, Sosa told Congress that he had never taken illegal performance-enhancing drugs. The New York Times reported Tuesday that Sosa tested positive two years before his appearance at a House hearing.

I'm glad these useless congrass clowns aren't wasting any time getting to the bottom of this one. It's not like there are numerous .gov audits finding Blackwater and other war profiteering asshole companies ripped off billions from the Merkan taxpayers or anything.

These assholes are truly useless.

1. Is there some kind of a federal law against using drugs if you are
a baseball player? If so, why? & if not, who gives a god damn what those guys do, it's meaningless entertainment anyway.

8. If it's steroids, they are Schedule III Controlled Substances.
So yes, it's against the law.

Lots of us give a damn what these guys do. Some of us have children who revere sports figures.

As entertainment, baseball is as meaningless as music and theater.

ATTENTION CONGRESS: FUCK THAT! FIX THE FUCKING ECONOMY ALREADY!

7. It's better to say nothnig at all to these congrass clowns.
Subpoena, what subpoena?

It seems the only people that get busted for allegedly lying to these congrassholes are ball players.

Next time I'd like for one of the players to tell congrass to Cheney themselves.
