Forced birthers plan vigil at Tiller's clinic on Saturday

Abortion opponents plan to return to Wichita this weekend to conduct a prayer vigil at the now-closed clinic where slain doctor George Tiller performed late-term abortions.

The prayer vigil and what is being called a memorial service at the former Women’s Health Care Services, 5107 E. Kellogg, will be held at noon on Saturday during a “prayer walk” extending the length of Kellogg through Wichita, organizers said in a prepared statement.

“As members of the pro-life and faith community, we are coming together for a time of prayer and remembrance,” said the Rev. Patrick Mahoney, director of the Christian Defense Coalition, which is based in Washington, D.C. “We will be praying for the Tiller family as well as asking God to bring healing to the city of Wichita.

“We will be asking God to end the violence both inside and outside of abortion clinics. Specifically, we will be praying that Wichita respects human rights and social justice and that no abortions would ever be performed in the city again."

It doesn't seem like a good name for anti-abortion people because no one is really against birth.

They aren't pro-life. Anti-choice is not a good enough term. Since Tiller's murder I have been calling them Forced Birthers.

Those darned forced birthers.

I plan to be lying naked in the middle of my living room, listening to something heavy metal, or maybe some Pat Boone, meditating on the utterly perfect hypocrisy of a bunch of homicidal co-conspirators who lack the conscience and soul that might have completed them as sentient human beings.

Then, if I can find one, I'll be doing things to a virgin.

After that, I'll write a couple more checks to Planned Parenthood and NARAL....................................

We used to have two clinics in Fayetteville. The anti-womanist forces forced one of them out of business by putting bombs in front of it, setting it on fire, all the normal bullshit the anti-woman crowd claims to abhor but not quite enough to force their more strident members to quit doing it...what's the first fucking thing they did after the abortion clinic was gone? Bought the building and turned it into a church. And they have a plaque at the door to the treatment room that says what it was. Nice, huh? If fucking Randall Terry gets his way he'll buy Dr. Tiller's clinic and call it something like Life Victory Tabernacle.

I would LOVE for them to arrest all those people for something, and to arrest bastards like Terry and Mahoney for encouraging terrorism. That won't happen, because after all they're "Christians" and "Christians" never did any such thing.

The cops would have a problem here: there are a LOT of people in town who know enough about explosives to build the dynamite bombs that were set in front of the two clinics--there were two, now there's one and both were attacked. There are a vast number of anti-abortion churches in town. The criminals were slick enough that they didn't leave much in the way of distinctive evidence--it doesn't take much creativity to break in, dump gasoline on the floor and throw in a match. And we don't get many of the heavy hitters on the anti-woman scene, if any.

Abortions will still be performed in Wichita. The University of Kansas Medical School Wichita Regional Medical Center performs early term abortions. I'd like to see you fuckers go against a state-run facility.

But not surprisingly, many of these same ultra-religious types use abortion as an absurd counterweight to torture. The distinction goes like this: abortion is the murder of innocent life while torture is just "a bunch of terrorists getting what they deserve".

It's impossible to take such simple-mindedness seriously.
