What to do when the bank comes after your house and car?
Iceland has been going through a rough patch, to say the least.

Long story.....

Anyways, Here´s one guy that didn´t feel like giving the keys to the bank.
Happened today 17th of June, the day we celebrate our supposed independence.
He picked the date carefully , called a film crew , arrived on heavy machinery, buried the car and took down the house.
He is somewhat of a hero to a lot of people.

Before.

After.

2. Something OLD is called for...
In ancient Israel every 50 years all debts were forgiven and everybody started again. It was called the JUBILEE. It looks like a worldwide Jubilee is now called for. Nobody should have to suffer what people are suffering now through no faults of their own.

6. A Jubilee would go a long way in eliminating the bad debt that is
blocking the economic recovery. Then add the regulations and we may be getting somewhere.

8. Nice that EVEN Israel (of all places) OR this "christian" country
doesn't recognize the word of God:
Deuteronomy 15:1 “At the end of every seven years you shall grant a remission of debts.

4. Before I email the pope recommending this guy for sainthood
Did he get sucked into some subprime loan? Did the bank act in bad faith?

I guess I still wouldn't call him a hero but I could understand his actions.

But if he was just pissed off because he got in over his head, he isn't a hero or a saint.

He's an asshole.

5. Here's an EXCELLENT story
about what happened in Iceland. By Michael Lewis, who wrote "Liar's Poker":

11. Well...
You would need to live in Iceland to understand the whole dynamic of this issue.
Mind you , after the country virtually collapsed because of corrupt banksters the government was forced to resign due to demonstrations.
Now we have learned that the whole country has been ripped off by a corrupt system in tow with corrupt business men.

Corrupt bankers setup banks all over the world - ICEsave accounts , more commonly known as IceSlave over here.
Now, the public is under the heel of Britain and Netherlands due to these accounts as we the public have to pay for the banks losses.
We are talking bizarre amounts here ! There is no way the country can pay this back.
Money has been sucked out of the country in every way imaginable.

After all this , no one has been arrested ! No one!
Except of course - demonstrators.

I figure his loan doubled during this , even more. The bank that has ripped everyone off wants him to pay in full.
He didn´t act on impulse , he planned this carefully.

The guy is a hero to most Icelanders.

7. My mechanic was telling me that there is talk of making that sort of action against banks
a felony here in Michigan. I haven't researched it yet, but I wouldn't be surprised.

10. They can charge you here in CA. It's vandalism, at the least

and depending on the monetary extent, it could be more. Until you have the "signed-off" deed, or the pink slip, you do not OWN that property. You are doing a "lease-option" ........any damage done to it PURPOSELY, is/can be a crime.
