Congress: Investigate Bush Family/Bin Laden Connections
http://alternet.org/waroniraq/50156/

The Evidence Is There: It’s Time for Congress to Investigate the Ties Between the Bush Family and Osama bin Laden

By Lucy Komisar, Posted April 5, 2007.

Now that the U.S. Congress is investigating the truth of President George W. Bush's statements about the Iraq war, they might look into one of his most startling assertions: that there was a link between Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden.

Critics dismissed that as an invention. They were wrong. There was a link, but not the one Bush was selling. The link between Hussein and Bin Laden was their banker, BCCI. But the link went beyond the dictator and the jihadist -- it passed through Saudi Arabia and stretched all the way to George W. Bush and his father.

BCCI was the Bank of Credit and Commerce International, a dirty offshore bank that then-President Ronald Reagan's Central Intelligence Agency used to run guns to Hussein, finance Osama bin Laden, move money in the illegal Iran-Contra operation and carry out other "agency" black ops. The Bushes also benefited privately; one of the bank's largest Saudi investors helped bail out George W. Bush's troubled oil investments.

BCCI was founded in 1972 by a Pakistani banker, Agha Hasan Abedi, with the support of Sheik Zayed bin Sultan al Nahyan, ruler of Abu Dhabi and head of the United Arab Emirates. Its corporate strategy was money laundering. It became the banker for drug and arms traffickers, corrupt officials, financial fraudsters, dictators and terrorists...

3. Thanks to all at DU who have worked to keep these truths out there.
A whole lot of people want this story to go away and it would have disappeared except for the diligence and persistence of the netroots who are becoming more cognizant of BCCI's role in everything happening today.

5. thanks I used to write and link on this alot- long over due! Got conspiracy theory?
that's what the far right would say-without even consiering the REAL information, and even so called mainstream media types and others- would NOT even consider it- just obscure it by dismissing everything and dissing those that mention it.

of the ruling class.

They take down real reporters and replace them with propagandists. They take down good Democrats and promote the corporatists who will agree to protect the elite.

Thanks to you and a whole lot of good people, the majority of Americans have finally learned the Truth: It's the country's warmongers who've gotta go.

Rosen on MSNBC said the attacks from swifts were fair, Dems are silly to oppose Fox appointment, and Pelosi's trip is not her finest moment.

That is supposed to be a Dem spokesperson. A Dem spokesperson who was SUPPOSED to be defending Dems in 2003 and 2004, too.

THIS is the part of the thread I wanted you to see. I believe there were Dems working to keep Kerry out of the oval office and, imo, because they wanted books kept shut on BCCI, too.

Whom does the biographer think his subject will pick as a running mate? Not Hillary Rodham Clinton. "There's really two different Democratic parties right now: there's the Clintons and Terry McAuliffe and the DNC and then there's the Kerry upstarts. John Kerry had one of the great advantages in life by being considered (unable) to get the nomination in December. He watched every Democrat in the country flee from him, and the Clintons really stick the knife in his back a bunch of times, so he's able to really see who was loyal to him and who wasn't. That's a very useful thing in life."

17. Thanks for the heads-up, blm!
Read her latest thing on Huffington Post. In it she indicated the warmongers-that-be hounded the Wilsons and few in America stood up to help this patriotic couple.

I'll review the other info.

BTW: A friend of yours is a friend of mine...

they hated each other. Now there is a connection between the bushies and bin ladens. Especially the day of 9/11 when the bush regime flew them to safety.

Regarding the 9-11 Saudi flights to freedom, that is a sign of Bush administration's OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE.

23. Why would Osama bin Laden want to kill Dubya, his former business partner?
Here's the last thing published by Jim Hatfield, author of the "Fortunate Son," an unauthorized biography of Smirko McCokespoon:

Why would Osama bin Laden want to kill Dubya, his former business partner?

By James Hatfield

Editor's note: In light of last week's horrific events and the Bush administration's reaction to them, we are reprising the following from the last column Jim Hatfield wrote for Online Journal prior to his tragic death on July 18:

July 3, 2001—There may be fireworks in Genoa, Italy, this month, too.

A plot by Saudi master terrorist, Osama bin Laden, to assassinate Dubya during the July 20 economic summit of world leaders, was uncovered after dozens of suspected Islamic militants linked to bin Laden's international terror network were arrested in Frankfurt, Germany, and Milan, Italy, in April.

German intelligence services have stated that bin Laden is covertly financing neo-Nazi skinhead groups throughout Europe to launch another terrorist attack at a high-profile American target—his first since the bombing of the USS Cole in Yemen last October.

According to counter-terrorism experts quoted in Germany's largest newspaper, the attack on Dubya might be a James Bond-like aerial strike in the form of remote-controlled airplanes packed with plastic explosives.

Why would Osama bi Laden want to kill, Dubya, his former business partner?

I knew that bombshell would whip your heads around. So here's the straight scoop, folks.

In June 1977, Dubya formed his own drilling company, Arbusto Energy ("arbusto" means "bush" in Spanish), in Midland, Texas. Like his father before him, Dubya founded his oil business with the financial backing of investors, including James R. Bath, a Houston businessman whom Dubya apparently first met when they were in the same Texas Air National Guard unit. (Interestingly, both Dubya and Bath were both suspended from flying in August and September 1972, respectively, for "failure to accomplish annual medical examination.")
