Will today be Al Franken's day?
http://www.politicsinminnesota.com/2009/jun17/3338/two-sources-supreme-court-ruling-u-s-senate-race-arrive-tomorrow

PIM has now heard from two sources on different sides of the Minnesota U.S. Senate race recount scene that the final Minnesota Supreme Court ruling is expected to arrive tomorrow, Thursday, June 18th. The ruling could arrive between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., a shift from the earlier deadline of 5 p.m. (The PioPress' Rachel Stassen-Berger said it was because the clerks head out at 4:30.) The official Senate race judicial information page is here, and this is the RSS feed which would likely carry the notification.

A little more at link.

3. I believe that if Al prevails then Norm is liable for Al's legal costs
And you know that bill will light up their asses.

4. Wasn't Normie already ordered to pay $95,000 of Franken's costs?

5. And I Hope His Term is Extended.
It seems to me he is entitled to six years in the Senate, from the date he starts.

6. The MN Supreme Court usually announces opinions at
10 AM on Thursday. Here's the link to the SCOMN media page, where pdfs of opinions are posted:

http://www.mncourts.gov/?page=230

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm going to watching this page closely at 10 AM.

8. I think MN is on Central Time
So it will be about 15 minutes from now (10:43) Eastern, if they are going at 10 Central.

10. Well, today's opinions and orders have been posted and I don't see anything re: Coleman
Does the case have a title that's more obscure than "Coleman v. ___" ???

11. That should find it - you'd think
The announcement implies that it might be rolled out on its own at any time today (while people are still working) but I have no idea if the source is reliable or not. I did note that they do give the full document history of the dispute and that gave me reason to believe they were legitimate. Hope so.

14. Well, I look forward to anything Alan Page might write about it.
No matter how it's parsed, I'm confident that Justice Page would have an erudite and well-reasoned opinion, if he cares to weigh in. (Needless to say, I have a great deal of respect for that man.)

13. Looks like no joy today, unless they issue the opinion
later today. It didn't come out in the normal opinion postings, though. They can, and do, publish opinions at other times in "time-sensitive" cases, as they say on the site.

9. Are we there, yet?
I can't wait until we have a comedian as a senator. Those people need to laugh at themselves. Seriously.

15. Guess this story turned out to be wrong
Hopefully, they were only off by a day. I know courts move at their deliberate speed but this court is not doing the people of Minnesota nor the country a service by taking almost three weeks to rule. They certainly know all the facts in this case as they have ruled on various motions at least two other times. The contest court had two of their own as judges and worte a very thorough and well documented opinion. What the heck is taking so long?

16. Trust me, the court wants to end this.
And the best way to do it is to come back with a ruling so comprehensive, so utterly dismissive of Normie's pathetic claims, that it will settle the issue once and for all. It will force Pawlenty to sign the election certificate, and we can get on with it. They are taking their time to do it right.

17. There was an update added yesterday on the same link
"5 p.m. update: PIM now hears that the decision will be unanimous and is now under a "gang edit" at the Minnesota Judicial Center. More here. Decision likely next week."
