My First Post - Support the Sanders Petition for Single Payer
Hi DU friends, colleagues and comrades,
This will be my first post on democratic underground. To be brief, Senator Bernie Sanders has a petition up on his website to sign up in support of single payer health care. As many of you know, the challenges to get a substantive health care system that is competitive with the rest of the industrialized world are daunting. We need to get behind Bernie Sanders and support this initiative to put power behind his lone voice. I can’t say that this will work; every little bit helps.

49. Being well & broke....
ain't much better! Mainecare pays $96.00 per month to the system on my behalf. If I earn ONLY, $86.00 this year beyond my SS income. I lose that Mainecare! Then I would have to earn no less than $2,500. before I could spend a penny on myself..like say buy a gallon of paint to spruce up my walls!

11. Ten years ago my doctor told me we need Single Payer. I believed him then.
I sure as hell believe him now.

He's one of those rare breeds who see's you right away if you need to be seen.

I never wait longer than 15 minutes, he keeps his number of patients low.

And he takes time to talk to you, even about non-medical things.

I think he knows what he's talking about.

28. You might ask him now, delicately...
You could say you're asking for a friend or you could just be honest.

You could ask if he happens to retire one day, who would he recommend, or something like that.

I'd do the same but I think mine will outlive me!

39. Definitely have an alternate plan
My Dr. died (in his fifties) from an embolism. He was the best person. He would visit with me even after his nurses reminded him of other patients. It took me 4 Dr.s to find one that I trust.It was such a frustrating experience.
Bernie Sanders is the Senate version of Dennis Kucinich, he is an independent.

companies control. Republicans claim we are the best yet they forget to mention this. Republicans and some Dems claim that if America gets Universal health care our healt care system will be ruined! What?! America ins ranked #38 in the world! If private plutocrat insurance companies have created such a good system, they why is America ranked #38 in the world?! Nobody has mentioned this. Nobody on TV has asked this to Republican fecal matter!
