Sent an email to Olive Garden Restaurant.
Reminded them to not underestimate the number of people who do not fall for Palin's lies. Also, that it is never a good idea to try to censor a TV show:) No more salty breadsticks and salads...which were the best parts of their meals anyway.

1. Haven't been to an Olive Garden in 15 years...
Do the waiters still stick the customers' tickets down the backs of their pants?

7. I'd do that, but I never, ever patronize Olive Garden anyhow.
There are a dozen small, family-owned Italian restaurants within the same driving distance as my nearest Olive Garden. Better food at them, and at lower prices. Why would anyone patronize Olive Garden? Blech!

Their business failure will have zero impact on me, and a positive impact on the other restaurants in the area. Screw 'em.

9. To what end?
Let them simply fail. I don't visit them because I dislike lukewarm salty pasta. I made that clear the last time I went there with a group of people. They didn't even apologize for the bad food or offer to replace the dish.

Screw 'em. To contact them and tell them that I won't be coming to their restaurant because of their pulling their ad would be dishonest. I'm not going to go there because the food's lousy, and I already told them that.

10. I am Italian. I was to the Olive Garden years ago. That is NOT Italian.
As are the bears to Colbert, Olive Garden is dead to me.

11. Not only that, it's barely food at all.
I've really never understood how Olive Garden gained the success it has.

I create and eat a lot of pasta dishes. My wife and I had a couple over last year, and there were fresh morels and porcini in my local gourmet market, so I made a simple pasta with those and some other mushrooms. Just the olive oil, juices from the mushrooms and some cream, over radiatore.

It was fast to make, so I could enjoy my guests. They raved over this simple dish and made some comment about how it was so much better than Olive Garden. I wasn't sure whether to feel insulted or not.

Olive Garden sucks!
