Politicians do listen, if they hear enough.

Dear Senator,
According to the latest NBC/WSJ poll, 76% of all Americans want a real public option in health care insurance. Yet, we hear current and former senators claim a public option is not going to happen. If that is the case, it says one thing: you are all the the pocket of the money men, not standing up for the people you were elected to serve.
The Republicans claim that competition is good, that it makes for better service, better products, etc. Well, make them live up to their professed value, give us a real choice of a public option, and watch what it does to those health care companies. Costs will go down, service will go up, and, yes, I hope their profits will go down as well. We are paying at least twice as much per capita for health care as many other nations, and getting far less for it.
Senator, we are paying attention. We will remember what you do and do not do on our behalf.
Sincerely
Here's the White House phone number: 202-456-111 and link
http://www.whitehouse.gov/ Today the calls are running in favor of a public option, but we much keep up the pressure tomorrow, and the next day, and the next.
So, the challenge: instead of just complaining here, match each of your posts with a call or email, Thats the only way we can get action, on any issue. DU has 141,753 registered users, and thousands of posts a day.
