"It's very safe and there are so many things for kids to do," said Shari Ballow, a Clearwater volunteer from Staten Island. "Everyone is very respectful to each other. I wish the world can be like this all the time."

People dancing at the Hudson River Stage (main stage) at 4:30 p.m. were wishing every day could be filled with music by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. She told the crowd to get up because she wanted to see their "booties shaking," and they did more than comply. Tanya Tringali, 29, of New Rochelle, had never seen Potter live before Sunday.

"Wow! She has such a soulful tone, and there's not too many people out there like her," Tringali said. "I'm so impressed with the kind of show she puts on."

Taj Mahal also impressed. The bluesman played his first solo show of the season starting behind the piano, then played "African Blues" on his guitar. In his Panama Jack hat, he played, danced on the stage and had the crowd singing along with him until 6:15 p.m., making way for folk singer Arlo Guthrie.
