SENATOR BILL NELSON AGAINST PUBLIC OPTION
Edited on Mon Jun-22-09 01:49 PM by nvme
For those of you who support Health-care Reform, Bill Nelson is NOT your friend. He is signing on to the Republican Plan WITHOUT a PUBLIC OPTION
Here is His response to a query I sent about the Public Option.
Dear Mr. Walters:

Thank you for contacting me regarding the health care reform process. Anyone who has battled a major illness knows the system is broken, and we can no longer wait to fix it.

Nearly 50 million Americans lack adequate health insurance, and that is unacceptable. I am working toward reforms that would make health insurance available to all Americans through an insurance exchange and would provide subsidies to those who cannot afford coverage.

Sincerely,
Senator Bill Nelson

I edited 2 paragraphs: One mentioned his support for the prescription doughnut hole plug and the other about doctors pay increases.

if you want to voice your disapproval to him:

2. If this is done by the reconcilliation process, we can afford 10 defections
Assume no Republican support, and assume Franken is seated by then.

That leaves us with 10 DLCers who we can afford to write off.

6. I will be in Florida

helping to unseat this republican. I would prefer an admitted republican to this kind of coward.

My money will go to his opponent if he votes the way he indicates. I will help organize a campaign to oust this jack ass. I helped raise tens of thousands of dollars for my candidates in the primaries and general. I can do the same to rid our party of this kind of traitor to real people. (Of course, he'll just move on to his million dollar job with the insurance lobby. Why do decent men die and people like this keep on breathing?)

8. The insurance companies have Florida on a short lease.
Ever since the 2000 election day when they and the repubs got away with blocking that major street that lead to the black neighborhood voting places in Tallahassee all day for a fender bender.

From there, they went to any time there is a fatality or a serious injury they block off the street and conduct a crime scent investigation to protect the insurance companies from a suit by those evil trial lawyers.

Big campaign bucks to the Repubs and Mr Bill the astronaut.
