They all have some "at a glance" headlines for those who only do "short and sweet." (Or to be left open on the seats of public transportation.)

But as these appear to be print ads, you have a self-selected audience of "readers."

They're not meant for a "ColbertWatcher." :)

8. And while I know designers love it,
that white type on a black background is hard to read for many. So lots of words, plus that may equal less affective (if snappy-looking) ads.
