Operation Rescue claims death threats against the Wichita-based anti-abortion group have increased since abortion provider George Tiller was gunned down at a church service, the Wichita Eagle reports.

Operation Rescue offers e-mails and phone messages as proof.

Troy Newman, the group's president, released several statements Friday afternoon.

Among them:

"In spite of threats against us, we will be reaching out to the community this weekend to pray for peace and memorialize those who have succumbed to abortion violence, both inside and outside the womb," said Newman.

"Let's show the world that, as Christians, we will not shirk back in fear, but will boldly proclaim the Gospel of Peace and Reconciliation, as our Lord commands," Newman said.

For years, Operation Rescue has aggressively targeted abortion providers and clinic workers by driving "Truth Trucks" with images of aborted fetuses through the providers' and workers' neighborhoods and sending out postcards listing their phone numbers and addresses.

nut jobs to take out Dr. Tiller, they were viscious and nasty. They threatened Dr. Tiller and other drs for years and years.

These people wanted to play god, the jury and the executioner and they were screwing with the devil. They are the ones that have created this insane environment of threats and murder. Now they are suffering from their own twisted actions.

I have no sympathy for them.....none.

Now after saying that (I don't even know if they are believable about the threats).

Either way, it's wrong to threaten people with death. I don't care who it is being threatened, it's still fucking wrong.


If we want to be the side that actually cares about human life, we should be outspoken against actions like this.

You can look at life in general and this is a true fact.

Do I condone violence no.
Do I think that these people deserve my sympathy no.

These people are selfish and they don't care to know about the lives of the women that they threaten and bully at these clinics. When the nurse was blinded several years ago they cheared. When Dr. Tiller was murdered they cheared.

They know that their intimidation, threats, violence incites the extreme nuts, they know this and they relish in it. When the violence happens (as they know it will) they play innocent as if they were not participants in setting up murders of law abiding citizens.

These people are the same people who fight against anti-bully legislation so they can be allowed to bully those these see as inferior.

These people stand silently as the hate rhetoric spews from their followers and they say nothing.......

We are supposed to feel sorry for them, why?

People simply get sick and tired of being bullied, people are sick and tired of these religeous fanatics trying to shove their brand of religion down the throats of Americans that don't believe their bullshit.

Here is a true fact....Many years ago in my life I had to go to one of these clinics, and the people that were there were vile, hateful, spiteful and I dare say even life threating to myself and other women.

No I don't give a shit about them because they don't give a shit about anyone else.

I don't care who it is. Death threats are an act of terrorism.

I dealt with them over 20 years ago. One of their thugs tried to drop a heavy video camera (they were huge back then) onto my head and he was faking an apology. They are killers.

They are the violent ones. They're the only ones who have murdered (and encouraged murder,) in this standoff. None of them have been killed by one of us.

That being said, I sure to hell hope that none of them get killed by one of us.

threats to Operation Rescue or anyone else. I do think, however, that it might be a good idea to bring the fight home to them. By this I do not mean violence or vandalism or obstruction of access. I mean demonstrations, pamphletting and "sidewalk counseling" at the offices and churches and other places where Operation Rescue and similar organizations meet and plan their activities. See how they like it.

I'm sure they can probably track the phone calls and emails.

I wonder where they will track the threats? Hmm.
