Photo: Daryl Hannah arrested with fellow protesters at WV coal processing plant


The 48-year-old "Clan of the Cave Bear" star, a NASA scientist and their ragtag group of protesters were arrested in West Virginia after blocking off a road leading to a coal processing plant in Raleigh County. Hannah's crew was protesting mountaintop removal mining -- a type of mining criticized for allegedly harming the environment.

30 were arrested in total and booked on misdemeanor charges of obstruction and impeding traffic.

Rethugs said protests are good. I'm surprised none of them was tweeting about this violation of people's democratic rights.

I have always liked Daryl Hannah...but I read Jackie-O did not.:(

11. Much better than the thing she had with Jackson Browne...
...I didn't pay close attention to the "spousal abuse" allegations against Browne, so I don't know if he actually beat her or not. Supposedly, Browne himself called the police on the night she moved out, and legend has it that the tabloids fabricated the abuse aspect. It's easily Googled but none of the search results are what I'd call especially "reliable."
