Poll question: Single-payer bureaucracy question.
Edited on Wed Jun-24-09 07:44 PM by ColbertWatcher
Once we get this, someone is going to have to run the damn thing to make sure there isn't any fraud/corruption, make sure the healthcare professionals get paid and make sure people get the best value for prescriptions, etc.

So, my question is, which government agency's reputation would you like this new system to have/be similar to? Obviously it will not operate exactly like any other agency--and obviously I cannot articulate this perfectly--but we want this healthcare system to work efficiently. Which agency would we like this new department to behave like?

Please post an explanation for why you chose the one you did and perhaps an explanation for why you didn't pick one of the others.

(And if you can suggest a better way to ask this, I'd appreciate it)

1. It should be HHS.
Same people who run Medicare and Medicaid and, from what I can tell, do a very good job.

3. I voted for the VA.
I think most veterans think higher of the VA than poor people and the elderly think of Medicare and Medicaid.
