Just back from the DC rally - "tens of thousands" no; hundreds of thousands closer to truth

Of course, the war-cheerleading Washington Post is going to report it vaguely, and give the FReepers (all 12 of them) nearly equal time, but I assure you it was a much bigger crowd than "tens of thousands." We have to stop this war ourselves; accurate reporting from the media is foolish to expect. Why doesn't the media just say "more than 50 protestors" - after all, that's true too, isn't it? It was a great event, and ignore the stomach-churning fudging of the numbers and single-minded focus on Jane Fonda, who was the epitome of class and pointed out in her remarks that it was the first rally she attended in 34 years, precisely because she knew the media would focus on her (which they are doing). The marchers were the image of middle America, all ages, races, etc. Anybody who tells you different is a liar. My congrats to the younger marchers. Great to see them, and I hope next time they outnumber us Boomers 10 to 1. Anyway, beautiful day, and don't let anybody get away with that "tens of thousands" scam line.

There were people as far as I could seem I couldn't believe the tens of thousands reporting going on. I would have loved to have been there. The speakers were wonderful and I cried and cried. I am glad I haven't heard about the focus on Jane Fonda and I am glad she was there. Way to go!

Someday, I'd like to protest various corporatemediawhore outlets and let them under report that.

police/media tend to downsize the crowd, while the protesters tend to exaggerate the turnout a bit. It will probably be somewhere in the middle.

I will be at the next planned one on March 17th everyone should reserve that date to go, 4th Anniversary of the Iraqi War, to the Pentagon. I will be there, this regime must be stopped. I was energized just watching it on TV, and I was proud that so many who do not buy the Bush BS were there.

I'll be back at that march. This march was, like Jane Fonda's, my first in 34 years, and I intend to go to every one here until we have peace and Bush is out of office, through impeachment, resignation or the end of his term.
