C-SPIN Tries To Whitewash Sanford's Affair...
Good old Skully doin' his best...trying to make it sound like Sanford really didn't do anything bad. Referenced his lover as a "friend" and then had to flash on videos of John Edwards to prove "they all do it".

Looks like the callers aren't buying it...the hypocrisy is so thick and these "indiscretions" just seem to happen far more often than just a lone wolf. Makes ya wonder what bombshells still are to explode on this...

Discuss...hell why not...it's fun...

1. Confirmed Affair?

Sorry, I was, uh, hiking the Appy Trail and missed that development. I mean, it seemed pretty obvious, but I didn't see confirmation.

2. Hey It Happens To The Best Of Us...
I rolled when I heard that line...as if we need even more verification this goon is a cad. Well I do expect Sanford's Argentina Bombshell to soon make an appearance on a reality show or some other tabloid.

While it was amusing reading the condemnation of the Freepers yesteray, I'm sure their memories are short...all is forgiven cause we all know that IOKIYAR.

As I've long said...most rushpublicans think "Family Values" is a drug store chain in Indiana.

5. We've Been Documenting It Here For Years...
CSPIN is as corporate as any media entity...if not moreso. It's owned by the cable companies who used it to skirt cable franchise laws to present "Public Service Programming". This is where Gnewt Gingrich made his name and where many hate talk spewers get their talking points.

8. Yep...Worked For Jerry Ford...
His biggest investors have been folks like John Malone who is a heavy GOOP contributor. The initial concept was that the GOOP was being shut out by the "librul media"...and this was their first attempt at "fair and balanced".

9. Zactly

But I will say that they've always been a little less subtle about it than, say, oh, let me think here . . . Faux.

7. If the Repubs hadn't placed themselves on a virginal white pedestal,
it wouldn't be an issue. You can't preach family values and sanctity of marriage and expect not to become a national joke when you travel thousands of miles (possibly on the taxpayer's dime) to see your married mistress.

10. Reminds Me Of The Woody Allen Movie...
A wife walks in, sees hubby shtooping the secretary and she calls him out on it. He looks at her and says "what are you talking about". Slowly both lovers put their clothes on while the wife rants and the husband looks at her like she's becoming a nusance. The young lady dresses and exits, the husband adjusts his tie...looks at his wife and says "yes, dear and you were saying?".

Yes, they ride this hypocrisy of "family values" and the arbeiters of social morality...it was a devestating weapon when used against Gary Hart, Ted Kennedy, Bill Clinton and Garry Condit. Now the worm has turned and the "they did it too" bullshit just doesn't fly as far anymore.

Here's hoping all personal lives are respected...but there is a large amount of schadenfraude when you see yet another hypocrite caught with their knickers in a snit.

12. Imus's sidekick Charles is reading his salacious emails in a lusty manner.
It's hysterical--he's using a porn-ish sort of voice.

14. It's ghastly--that's what's making the whole piece so funny!
He's using every iota of vocal skill he possesses -- to include the heavy breathing and the portentous pauses.
