Anyone know how the Single Payer rally in Washington D.C. went today?
Organizers were hoping for a million people to turn out today, June 25th, but it sounds like just thousands did. The best info I could find follows:

Politico.com

Big Capitol Hill rally for health care

Thousands of grassroots activists and labor workers from across the country flooded Capitol Hill Thursday for a high-volume rally for health care reform.

The rally came as President Barack Obama’s plan encounters its toughest resistance on Capitol Hill yet. Republicans are mounting stiff opposition to a public option, and members of both parties have sticker shock over the projected costs of reform.

Supporters vowed Thursday not to back down.

“We want health care reform,” told Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) supporters, gathered at Russell Park across the street from the Capitol. “We aren’t going to wait another 150 years. We’re going to do it now.”

I was hoping for something deeper. Well, this is not a slow news day.

4. we do need a rally of a million or more

Of course, in the summer heat, there could be a lot of potential medical issues with an outdoor rally in late June in DC and perhaps people who want health care reform and aren't insured know that they'd put their health and finances in serious trouble if they showed up at this time of the year.

If they could do it Indian Summer, early Fall then ..well the msm would still do their best to ignore the probably massive numbers

the way :puke: CNN "covered" it today was just bs "they saaaayyy *they* represent the 'millions' chuckle chuckle who want ...government..ugh..funded health care..etc"

something to that effect heard briefly on that channel before turning it off in disgust

5. I think people at the gym think I have terrets...I end up yelling at the tv...

They NEVER cover an pros...they just cover the cons (which are bull shit) and then say...we'll get to the other side later...then bring on another "expert" to say how it will ruin the system, eliminate choice, create govt control of your life....
