MSNBC needs to get their shit together!
Over the weekend there were incredible events being played out in Iran. However, MSNBC thinks that we need to learn more and more details about our penal system or some part of law enforcement. Iran should have received major coverage.

Now Michael Jackson dies, and I wonder if they would break in to tell us that North Korea had fired a missle. We hear ad nauseum about his life, talent, and notoriety. We get coverage hour after hour in excruciating detail.

Is MSNBC going to be a serious player in the news or a subsidiary of TMZ and the prison system?

Play them off Keyboard Cat! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J---aiyznGQ

4. They Could Capture All The Viewers
from other networks who didn't want
non-stop MJ coverage. Ya know, real news?
Of course they would get complaints
that they didn't cover him enough.

9. I don't know...
I'm pretty aware of what's going on in Iran and I don't even watch television
Some things just have a way of seeping in.

10. Will have to confess turning to Shep Smith for his broadcast today...
didn't turn off Faux News until Geraldo came on. For some reason I prefer Smith's no-nonsense approach when it's a serious matter (such as during the Holocaust museum shooting). If anyone else comes on then it will be turned to CNN. MSNBC is just small-time when it comes to live news events.

11. Is Jackson still dead?
Sorry, don't mean to make light of his death, it's just that MSNBC has gone waaaay overboard on their coverage.
How many ways can they tell us he died?

It's part Microsoft owned.
Hardball and Keith. Maddow is OK too. Rest of it is pablum.

13. What is the goal of the channel? If their goal is not exactly to inform
as much as I usually think KO and RM are good, they are doing just fine

Just finished watching Control Room... and as much as it raises questions about the coverage of Al Jazeera, also raises a question on our media, and all media.

I can learn more about what is going on in the world in 1/2 hour on DU than I could by watching cable "news" all frickin day.
