1. maybe not, there is some questions about using state resources in conducting the affair
considering he was a big supporter of cutting govt spending and even wanting to refuse fed funds to help the state with schools andother things, it'snot going to go away.

6. not entirely,he is no longer a credible spokesperson for the Republican side
he might keep the job for now and people will ignore him but once he tries to go after others they will have something they can easily go after him on.

also he can no longer play the morals card and i don't think that will work in South Carolina.

8. i wonder... does david vitter still try?? because i thought i heard him
spouting about something, and all i could think of was that this guy went to a prostitute.

you know, yesterday i remember a republican throwing eliot spitzer up there and other dems as a response to questions about this string of republicans...and then she said that spitzer created a call girl ring and did something illegal. but vitter went to a prostitute.... so... why didn't he step down then?? and no one knows yet what sanford did... maybe nothing, but since we all jut found out... who knows.

i agree is not credible. and it seems he isn't very popular with his own party. but they tend to count on people's short memories.

9. Vitter has not been effective in getting things done in the Senate
as far as the Senate race, he is so far leading but the campaign has not really started. i hope that porn star runs in that primary just to keep the issue of sex in the campaign. but i'm sure whichever Republican that may run against him will bring it up.

i think he is kind of weakened though. Lousiana is a very tough state for Dems but if Vitter is the candidate and Dems run someone who is seen as much more of a "moral" type and likable they might have a chance of winning.

in some ways if a republican is going to keep that seat it is better that it's Vitter for the Dems since he is seen as a joke.

3. One lucky filanderer?(Oh, wait, that's spelled different)
One lucky Folger's drinker(well, he's Republican, so he probably doesn't hit Starbucks)
One lucky fiddler?(didn't know he played)
One lucky Ferdinand Marcos imitator?(Ok, probably not, but that would've made it a better story, right?)

7. He's gone before the 4th of July.
The politicians of SC won't miss a chance to climb the ladder by knocking off the guy at the top. It's only a matter of time.

12. He's a hot dog that fell off the grill for a minute. He'll be put back on the fire soon enough
People will tire of the tragic stories by Monday. Then it's back to Sanford and who knows what else...
