Christy Harvey predicting Sanford will resign the governorship
Harvey is a guest on our local liberal morning talk show right now. She just said that the rumors are getting stronger that he'll resign soon because he can't function effectively as governor. She also said that maybe she's speaking too soon but it's what she's hearing.

Nice political lineup they've got in that state there.

5. I didn't hear about that. Here's a link from Wonkette
He was also Rudy Giuliani’s campaign chairman for the state.

16. Another scion from an old political family.
That was Arthur Ravenel's son. He did time for it, too.

SC is just eaten up with these political opportunists. Thurmond, Hollings, Ravenel, Sanford, Graham, Demint.

2. He should resign. The sooner the better.
Not because he's an adulterer but because he can't do the job he was elected to do.

Boot his ass out now, SC!

3. No. Stay in office! We need Republicans like this in office to remind everyone...
what their family values are all about.

6. Won't work. The people who need reminding all watch FAUX
And FAUX shows him as Governor Mark Sanford (D-SC)

17. If he values his "family jewels", he will.
I, for one, would NOT want to cross Jenny Sanford.

9. I would certainly define leaving the country to visit your lover
Edited on Fri Jun-26-09 09:31 AM by rocktivity
without contact info, leaving someone else in charge, or making security arrangements as functioning ineffectively. Such extraordinarily poor judgment cannot be tolerated in a leader of any kind.

13. I believe using state funds to pay for a trip to see your lover is grounds enough
for him to be kicked out of office if not charged with a crime.

14. Good. Dereliction of duty makes him unfit to serve. He can go live with
his lady in Argentina and maybe we won't have to see his ugly mug on tv anymore.

Disgusting POS.

15. He may never have been able to function as governor - without his wife's help
"In 1994, {Jenny Sanford} managed her husband's successful campaign for Congress, as well as his successful gubernatorial campaign in 2002. According to the Governor's website, she assisted him daily during his first term as Governor, and co-managed his successful re-election campaign in 2006."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jenny_Sanford

Looks like she not only provided a lot of the money for his political career, she also did much of the work!
