Sanford--Object of Ridicule
It's clear that the worst thing about being Mark Sanford is not the disgrace, the moral infraction, the possible loss of his political position. It's the ridicule.
He's a homely man. He got to where he is largely with his wife's help. Strip away his position, his reputation, his dignity, his family, and what's left? He's not articulate. A pitiful guy. And I wonder how attractive he'll be to Argentinian woman after all this?
There's something so funny about the poor rhetoric of his emails, the flight to Argentina, his helpless and bunbling apology. He'll be an object of ridicule for the rest of his life.
And that's what will hurt the most.
And we thought that we'd have nothing to laugh at after George Bush's Administration!

1. I agree
except for the last line. We had PLENTY to laugh at, Palin being the biggest ongoing joke of all.

2. articulate?
I actually think he is probably pretty smart. Furman is a fine University and UVA is top notch and a school that is public and not a typical legacy school. I actually think this Argentinian women is really in love with him and him with her. I don't think his position or status had anything to do with their attraction. i think it may be the first time in either of their lives that they felt this way about the opposite sex. Love does not make logical sense.
