...will always be able to find a doctor who will enable them. Money allows them to shop around and find a doctor who will keep their addictions fed.
It sounds like a combination of drugs, eating disorder, exhaustion and 8-hour daily workouts with Lou Ferrigno (not a joke) did him in.
Yes, this doctor was probably giving him loads of drugs.
However, what about all of the other people in his life? Family members--especially the parents and the siblings--seem to want this doctor solely blamed from the get go.
This family chose to remain in denial about the abuse that happened in their family. Joe Jackson chose to abuse his children and behave like a tyrant. All of those siblings saw what was happening to their brother. His behavior (self mutilation by surgery), anorexia, and possible pedophilia--were all covered up.
What happened to LaToya when she alleged that Joe Jackson sexually abused her and the older sister? The family, not the media, turned against her, spoke out against her and enabled the abuser. Do any of them realize the impact this had on Michael? Don't tell...just shut up and keep it inside--or else the entire world will rain down rejection on you.
This is the result of denial. People are only as sick as their secrets, and it was very clear to Michael Jackson that you keep secrets in that family. People who suffer like this, act out with drugs, alcohol and other bad behavior--- and they can die. They often die young.
I'm not without sympathy for the Jackson family. I feel for all of them.
However, it will be very hard to watch this very dysfunctional family pointing fingers all over the world--and wanting his doctor destroyed--while continuing to deny their own part in all of this.
This family cannot heal until someone allows these adult children to be honest about what happened to them--and until the entire Jackson family decides that the world doesn't revolve around keeping Joe Jackson's secrets.
