All Michael Jackson, All Day, All Night
It is sad that MJ died. He was a very talented person and a tragic figure. However, while trying to hear some other news, I tried them all...MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, (but not Fox) every channel was all Michael Jackson and not just for several minutes, but just about the whole damn program. I couldn't help but think that if this much attention was paid to just one soldier who was killed in Iraq, (his life as a boy, his family, his talents, why he joined the military, etc., etc.) would this have awakened the American people about this war of choice by the bush/cheney administration? We weren't even allowed to see the returning coffins carrying the real American heroes. Now I wish I had tivoed Judge Judy so I could have something else to watch.

3. hmmm...
Will we get this wall-to-wall coverage when OJ dies? Will people on this board insinuate that he really did murder his wife, and his defenders/sycophants will claim his was found criminally not guilty? Celebrity obsession is a weird thing...

4. Judge Judy?
I'd have a hard time choosing her over Dick Cheney. No wonder pop culture is so difficult for you.

9. Pop Culture isn't hard for me...but
Judge Judy would be a change from all day and night MJ. No contest for me over whom I would choose between Judy and the dick. It sure wouldn't be the dick.

5. FOX "News" stays on top because it is NOT Obama or MJ all day
and all night. Don't get me wrong, because I voted for Obama and really like him but FOX ratings are high because of a backlash against the Obama Presidency and now there will be a huge backlash against the MJ coverage for these same pople who really want to forget that Obama is President. And yes, some of it is pure racism. If it were Elvis there would not be a backlash so much. Just my opinion.

10. So ironic because I NEVER watch those stations
but watch the Indy media -- except for now, because I do want to see the MJ stories. I'll trade ya LinkTV and Free Speech TV for the cable bubbleheads.

13. Interesting post.
A valiant attempt to put into perspective the life of a young soldier killed in Iraq.

Thank you.
