If it came down to a compromise- Single Payer VS allowing War Criminals to go free?
So many battles on so many fronts for Obama. I really don't understand why he isn't taking it to Cheney et al,
And I really don't understand why Wall Street continues to profit unethically.

But this strange thought passed my mind and I'm truly unhappy with myself for leaning towards thinking I'd
choose health care for all, and letting the criminals go unchallenged.

I understand that it's simply not that simple, but what would you trend towards?

1. At possibly the cost of my life? Justice. Too many have died or been tortured in our names.
My life is insignificant in comparison to the suffering we've inflicted on others.

7. It Is Not Just Your Life
How many Americans die or (less melodramatic) declare bankruptcy every year because of our inadequate health care system? Are the people who profit off of this system unethical, just as the people who gave the legal justification and carried out the torture are?
It is not about you. It's not about me.

Which speaks more to our immorality as a nation - condoning (through inaction) war crimes or accepting a system in which the type of health care some one receives is dependent upon their ability to pay.

2. "I understand that it's simply not that simple"
You are correct. So the question is pointless.

4. Of course it's not
It's a testing of the waters.

You answer similarly pointless questions every four years in November.

3. The United States is so small & incompetent it can't do both? In that case Single payer and
turn the criminals over to the World Court. Problems solved.

5. or skip single-payer, let the criminals go free and continue to profit, continue to hold detainees
indefinitely.

That seems to be what our votes went for.

Oh, I think deep down, you do.

But the answer is so frightening to you that you cannot face it or refuse to see it.

It's understandable.

It is.

But it is not helpful.
