That nasty email claiming bill passed that would give SS to 'illegals' making the rounds again - pix
Edited on Sat Jun-27-09 02:03 PM by proud2BlibKansan
I have received it 3 times in the last week. And about a month ago, I got a call from a friend asking me to call Congress and speak out against the bill.

So here are some handy links to send back via 'reply all' if you are lucky enough to get this email:

Congress hasn't voted on any measure to pay benefits to illegal immigrants, and has no plans for any such vote.

Versions of this whopper have been going around since 2006 and picked up after Democrats won increased House and Senate majorities last November. Since January 1, readers have forwarded to us more than 100 e-mails that claim Congress is about to vote or is voting right now or just voted last week to give Social Security benefits to illegal immigrants. All are false.

We first saw this bogus claim bandied about as a Republican campaign theme during the 2006 midterm elections. As we explained then, no benefits can legally be paid to illegal immigrants and there was never a proposal to change that.

And Snopes has a good history that explains how this email rumor got started: http://www.snopes.com/politics/immigration/socialsecurity.asp

Now let's remember where this email rumor started:

This guy has several like minded friends and he has as much respect for those he considers 'morans' as he does for the English language:

He also has a big family and he spread this rumor at a gathering they held:

One of his family members was having some business setbacks and had lots of time to help compose the email message that spread the lie:

His kids had worked on the Bush campaign:

And then last year, more of his friends and family were volunteers on the McCain campaign:

In the meantime, they attended this important conference a few weeks ago so they could meet their hero Pat Buchanan:

So remember what they say about those email rumors. Now you know where this one got started!

4. Too bad, they do deserve to either get SS for what they have paid in or get what

they paid in given back to them.

5. I have no problem with them drawing SS
if they met the system requirements and paid into it. However, I cannot get one red cent out of the SS system until a certain age. If I drop dead before then, my heirs do not get a bloody cent. Why should we "pay back" SS because they are illegal in this country.

7. But the point is
they don't get SS even if they DO pay it. And there is no plan in the works for them to get it.
