F*ck, I hate this shit. He claimed some "UDAs" bailed and are in the wash behind the barn there somewhere. I rolled my eyes and said "Are you sure, because I know I can't stop you if you are in pursuit, but I REALLY don't want you guys around here on the private property." He looked kind of shocked at that. He was a new, young guy. His buddies probably made him come talk to me, because they've met me before.}(

And now those dumb, racist fuckers in the legislature up in Phx want to make it a big crime to help "UDAs" <<<<< new made up PC acronym (undocumented aliens) for Human Beings that are desperate.
Stupid games being played out with people's lives.

1. Hey, Kali, does mild mannered reporter Jeff Smith live near you?
Haven't read him for a spell and wondered if he was still down close to the border.

PM me if you want.

12. Cool. Didn't know the Citizen still existed online
Knew he was back at that paper, but didn't know if he was still in the 'burbs or back in town. Hadn't seen his by-line for a long time so gave up looking.

7. yeah - I think there have been two cases now
one for putting water out - that was on the Tohono res - and the guy was in trouble with the tribal cops, I think. The other was some kids from Humane Borders - they transported somebody to a doctor and if I recall it was technically not a life threatening situation so they got charged (in federal court, no less)- but it was really just the usual try to make-an-example bullshit.

11. I can't wrap my brain around a human being who would rather see
another human being die, than give them a drink of water.

20. Welcome to DU!
another Cochise County DUer!:woohoo:

I keep the NOAA radar window open all the time this time of year - I watched that big storm blow up and of course not a single drop here!

Are you a weather/rainfall freak? Check local amounts and join the rainlog bunch if you want: http://rainlog.org/usprn/html/main/maps.jsp

13. Very NIce..beautiful country....
Good on you for keeping stupid Border Patrol out.

Maybe Law Enforecement could show up with some food, water or medicine? Become part of the solution.. not part of the problem?

Nahh.. Bennie Bernake and the boys at the Federal Reserve would never allow it and it's not on Mr. Obama's Change list....

15. too be fair (and I really don't want to, dang it)
Border Patrol does rescue a fair number of stranded people and they do carry water. They also take them in for medical treatment if needed. We were having quite a bit of problems with them not escorting them all the way into the hospital and the county getting stuck with the tab - BP is supposed to be responsible when they bring somebody to the hospital - they were dumping in parking lots and such. Haven't heard of any of that in a while, though.

Of course the only reason they have to rescue is because of the stupid policies that shoved them so far out into the desert in the first place.

18. I used to hand out bottles of water
to illegals crossing the golf course. No way would I stand by and do nothing and have somebody die of thirst. To hell with the border patrol.
