You know the worst part of the Sanford mess
is that the bastard thought he could get away with it and return to the car full of the camping stuff.

It's fugging unbelievable that he thought he could pull that off.

And the reason - his wife told him he could not see his mistress.
The only thing more stupid than his EPIC FAIL was watching Graham defend it on religious terms.

All the Republican hypocrites should STFU!!!

Nice discussion on KO - Holey Matrimony

1. Lund-sap Graham is a total asshole.
Thank gawd he never made some unlucky person his wife. That is probably the most magnanimous thing he has ever done ~~ NOT getting married.

:hi: Hi, malaise...how goes it?

2. Hi there Hepburn
I'm fine - sipping a lovely home made fruit punch with passion fruit, pineapple, mango, bananas, watermelon, oranges and crushed ice.

That's dinner - it's too hot for anything else. :hi:

3. I liked KO taking the camera
to read the line about Sanford "asking his wife for permission to visit his mistress."

I mean, he wanted PERMISSION????

By the way, Maria's not - strictly speaking - his mistress. That usually involves the man providing financial support to the woman.

She's just his little bit of action on the side. A little something that he kept just for himself.

I still think she's his Top and he's a total Bottom...............................

4. And, that's why a lot of repubs in SC
want him gone..he's too stupid to be gov.

<snip>>>

“When business leaders start moving to South Carolina, they want to see somebody they can have confidence in,” Littlejohn told CNN. “If you lie to your family and you lie to your friends, you lie to anyone.”

6. Yep this is no longer about sex with his 'top'
This is about a LIAR who was caught in the act. Arrogance and a total lack of shame could be the only reasons why he hasn't resigned yet.

7. Maybe I'm a Puritan
But I've always wondered why we say "it's between a man and his wife." How many of us would vote for a politician who we know embezzled money from their business partner? Seems to me there is a big character flaw in people who participate in extra-marital affairs. As someone else said, if you lie to your family and friends, why wouldn't you lie in general? Why are we okay with people like this running our country or state? Isn't cheating of any sort a character flaw?

8. We sure couldn't apply your Puritan rules in my part of
the world. Men and women cheat - and I know more than a few people who are honest about everything other than cheating.

9. I Don't Think We Can Apply them Here Either
But I wonder why not? I guess I'm too much of a black and white person. If you cheat on one thing, I find it hard to believe you don't cheat in other ways.

10. I don't think anybody should judge what goes on somebody else's marriage
Edited on Mon Jun-29-09 10:47 PM by emulatorloo
We don't know what goes on behind the scenes. There could be good reasons he fell out of love with his wife. We just don't know.

He doesn't sound like a serial cheater, and he seems to be love sick over Maria.

On the other hand, I do get mighty judgmental about

-- using eight to twelve thousand in taxpayer dollars to go see your girlfriend.

-- disappearing from your job as an executive of a state for several days

11. I Sort of Agree With You
Edited on Tue Jun-30-09 08:21 AM by abluelady
But I don't see a difference in cheating, be it dollars, disappearing from a job, or betraying a spouse. I believe they are all indicators of a big character flaw. I certainly know what falling out of love is, but does it justify cheating. Does being poor justify robbery? Maybe sometimes it is okay to have your own beliefs (judgements).

14. Me, I wouldn't dare judge what goes on in someone else's
marriage. All sorts of marriages have all sorts of arrangements. That's just life.

I wholeheartedly agree with your point about him using taxpayer dollars to go dip his wick and him ducking out on his elected-office responsibilities. And I'll add this:

He had the nerved to shake a puritanical finger at Clinton and at all LGBT people collectively, signing and proposing law after law to limit or take away our rights and human beings. Sumbitch turns out to be even more immoral than he accused any of us of being ANNNNNNNNNND he has the NERVE to say the G'd wants him to remain in office.

He can kiss my fruit-flavored arse.

13. Ah but you have your own Puritan streak down there
And the homophobic attacks have the Island off the visit list for millions of people. Obviously that is not universal there. But the notion that your culture is sexually freewheeling and not puritanical is absurd.
