I will be going to a "Town Hall"
with my Congressman at 6:30 this evening regarding the health care issues.

Keep in mind that he is a reliable liberal, who is 100% behind a public option, and probably would like to find a way to pass a single payer bill.

There will be a question and answer period...Who wants to give me some material?

1. I wouldn't use "material"
Tell him what you think. He's working for you.

2. Perhaps material means different things
to you and me. I already know what I want to ask him....

The advertisemnt for the event says that if we have health care "stories", bring them tonight. Just thought I would see if snyone here has a specific "story" he should know about.

Like I said...He is a reliable liberal, and he has already indicated he is behind a public option. Looks like he is wanting some "material" to bring back to DC for his discussions.

3. I'm Going To A Town Hall Today As Well - Could It Be The Same One......
Is your Town Hall being held by a Congressman in the Chicago area?

5. Today Must Be Town Hall Day For Health Care......
My congressman is holding one at 6:30pm as well. He in a Dem and his position is that he is waiting for the bills to come out of committee before he makes any commitment as to which way he'll go. I called his office a week ago and that was their statement.

I told them that if he didn't know by now how he'd vote on this and couldn't commit to a 'public option' after all this time we've talked about health care - since back in the Clinton days - that he is not fit to be a Congressman.

His father was a 'blue dog'. Not sure about this guy - but I'm sure the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. His wife is an 'actuary'. I'm wondering which insurance company she works for. I hear that he has stacked the deck with his Town Hall and will have representatives from big insurance and others speaking out against the 'public option'.

We're going to go in and try and give him a jolt of reality and let him know that if he doesn't vote the will of the people - he will find himself on the unemployment line come re-election.

Good Luck at your Town Hall Tonight.

6. Good Luck to you too!
Looks like we will have a happier time here than you might. Congressman Tierney is, as I have said, most definately a liberal.
