Is Dubya afraid of horses?
I don't think I've seen him on one.

For all that cowboy talk, the man seems to stay pretty clear of horses.

Of course he can hardly even ride a bicycle, so maybe it's for the best.

10. You know what Cowboy hats & hemorrhoids have in common ?
Sooner or later, every asshole gets one!!!!

P.S Facts are like Kryptonite to republicans, they don't want to admit that G.W. is a Connecticut Yankee by birth. He was born in the shadow of liberal Yale University, and daddy was born in Ted Kennedy's home State of Massachusetts. That's some funny shit right there.

Made me laugh to see it next to the word "Holy."

She's due in June, but more than likely (given the fact that she's three weeks ahead in growth and I have some minor health complications - gestational diabetes and anemia) will be born in May. My rock idol is Pete Townshend, so I'm hoping she's either born on his birthday (May 19) or on Memorial Day weekend, which would be the anniversary of the day my husband and I met. :)

My son and one of our dogs also were born in May (the 14th and 11th, respectively). We're kind of a "May" household. ;)

And, you're correct about the horse, too.

I used to barrel race with quarter horses - wanted to be a jockey (which I could have been if I'd stuck with it - I was a VERY tiny person until I had a 10-pound kid and I'm STILL smaller than the average woman), but I couldn't tolerate whipping a horse.

23. You have to be smarter than a horse in order to ride one--that would be a challenge for the De
As a lifelong horse person, I can tell you that horses are living bullshit detectors and they respond best to firm but sensitive handling. Bush's aggressive attitude would make a sensitive horse very nervous--that's a train wreck waiting to happen. A less sensitive horse would quickly realize that this guy had no idea what he was doing and would retaliate--usually in the most embarrassing manner possible. I've known horses who kept track of low branches along the trail solely for the purpose of removing obnoxious but unskilled riders.

My guess is that at some point in his life, Bush had either a frightening or embarrassing experience with a horse which is why he avoids them even when being able to ride would clearly be helpful on the job.

Vladimir Putin took western riding lessons so as not to shame the great Russian equestrian tradition only to find that there were no horses at Bush's ranch. Likewise Vincente Fox planned to take Bush riding at his own ranch and was surprised to find that the wee cowboy did not ride.

Laura Bush told us so.

Riding them, though, is not his thing. He's afraid of getting hurt. It's the same feeling he got when thinking about Vietnam.

34. Reminds me of a joke:
Three Texas surgeons were playing golf together and discussing surgeries they had performed. One of them said, "I'm the best surgeon in Texas. A concert pianist lost 7 fingers in an accident. I reattached them, and 8 months later he perfomed a private concert for the Queen of England." One of the others said, "That's nothing. A young man lost both arms and legs in an accident. I reattached them, and 2 years later he won a gold medal in field events at the olympics."

The third surgeon said, "You guys are amateurs. Several years ago, a cowboy, who was high on cocaine and alcohol, rode a horse head-on into a train traveling 80 miles an hour. All I had left to work with was the horse's ass and a cowboy hat. Now, he's president of the United States."

The fact that you can't find a picture of Shrub on a real horse is proof he's afraid of them.
