Overheard at the post office yesterday
Hubby was in picking up a package, and, as usual, there was a line. Anyway, the good old boys (in northwest Arkansas, the reddest part of the state) started talking about Palin. They said things like, "I really liked her, but now that she's quit, I won't have a thing to do with her", and "She quit--she's done."

So much for the loony idea that stepping down now from the governorship would help her presidential chances in 2012.

3. Limbaugh and Hannity will work on them.

They will be back in the Sheepie fold in a couple of weeks, tops.

4. There are some things that people do not need the chattering class to interpret for them. They "get
it" themselves on a very basic level and it wont matter what the spinners or pundits say. She's done - whether she knows it or not. You don't just quit. If you do, you'll never be trusted again to stick it out when the going gets rough which everyone knows is a daily part of the job of President.

6. Just by 2¢ - but I don't think Crazy Palin cares that she is done politically.
She found out there is a lot of hard work in actually holding a job where you are expected to show and be prepared everyday. Just not her cup of tea. Reading and comprehending, working out issues, expected to play nice with others - just not in her histrionic/narcissistic personality.

I'm thinking she is cashing out while the cashing out is good. She'll have someone write that book for her, she make oodles of money on the rubber chicken circuit with speaking fees, she might even get a TV or radio gig (with GOOD assistants to do the heavy lifting and she'll coast for the next 40 years doing nothing but raking in the money. She'll be a multi-millionaire with nothing but a wink and a "you betcha."

7. the best thing that woman could have done......
after the election was to go back to alaska and be governor. be the best governor she could be. keep her head down and her mouth shut and go take a class in world events. the best thing she could have done was to let people forget about the election and the caricature that she had become and to craft a new image for herself after figuring out a few things about the world and our country. She could have been a formidable opponent had she done that. Could she have won??? i don't know. But she would have had a shot. She seems to be listening to the wrong people on what she should do. Keeping herself out there like she has has only served to make the palin from the election even worse and making herself into a laughing stock. it's sad really.... never listen to people who have a reason to steer you wrong.

8. We noticed this too.
My cousin-in-law runs a small flea market out our way. Many of the vendors there are nice people, but very conservative in a Ron Paul libertarian way. Mostly they liked Palin. Mr. Jones started talking about Palin's resignation last weekend and I cringed, thinking that they were just going to dogpile him with 'leave Sarah alone', but no, they were laughing and shaking their heads in agreement.

At least we can all agree that none of us appreciate a quitter.
