I haven't seen one single solitary second of MJ coverage.
The TVs here at Chez Fumesucker are for all practical purposes permanently set on the Disney Channel, Boomerang, The Cartoon Network and one other that escapes me at the moment, my grandkids basically control the TVs here and I'm not sure they even know who MJ was.

None of the channels that are watched here have gone so far to mention MJ or anything to do with him so far as I can ascertain.

Now if Hannah Montana, The Jonas Brothers, Zack and Cody or iCarly were to kick the bucket, that would be a big deal here. :)

I gotta say I'm a bit taken aback by the level of vitriol surrounding the MJ Memorialpalooza here on DU, I thought the effin' primaries were contentious, now I find out the were like an episode of Romper Room compared to MJ's passing.

I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo glad I gave up TV a while back if this is the sort of aggravation it causes, which apparently it does given the number of threads I read here on a regular basis bitching about Hannity, Mika and Joe, Tweety and all the rest of 'em.

That is all, I'm now breaking out my Nomex Underoos and lots of  and awaiting comments..

:)

4. lol.. that's good! I told that to any MJ basher, read a book then, its TV-culture & MJ was bigger
than any entertainer. So, the MJpalooza was and is huge...

3. I kept the tv off all day and listened to Stephanie, Thom and Randi on the radio.
Still talk of Jackson but I didn't have to put up the BS memorial.
I didn't care one teensy, tiny little bit.

been on, however, I did smile REALLY big today when I realized this coverage has gone on longer than the agonizing coverage when Reagan died.

I prefer to listen to the Jackson 5 and Michael's music. :hi:

8. Aww... why do you want to ruin the complainers' fun?
It's the only fun they have, you know... the complaining. It sure seems that way, at least.

14. TV is remarkably addictive..
It's kind of like giving an addict an adulterated dose of their drug, it ruins their whole hig.. err.. day.

9. I am Also Surprised at the Level of Vitriol
Maybe it's envy. Maybe people expect their personal priorities to get all the attention, and apparently feel the need to complain about anyone who is a fan and is personally interested in the story.

There's room for MJ and political awareness as well.

16. I'm seeing considerable vitriol from *both* sides..
And I'm staying out of it..

The level of attention apparently paid in the media is ridiculous, IMO, but most of the media is ridiculous anyway, also IMO.

Edited on Tue Jul-07-09 05:46 PM by bigwillq
The only thing I saw on MJ was the opening segment on ABC World News just now. I may watch some news later, and I am sure they will cover MJ. But it will be my choice to watch or not.

edit: talking about violence in China now.

15. Everyone is ignorant about something..
There simply is too much in the world to know, or even know of, everything.

It's a matter of focus, I know things that you do not and, likewise, you know things that I do not.
