I don't understand how her quitting will save those investigations any time or money, except that if she quits she won't be able to continue to break the law.

1. I think the fun is just starting.
I believe there are two cases in court, a couple of ethics investigations that haven't been determined yet, and maybe two or three other ones that have yet to be filed.

Plus there is the "RUMORED" IRS investigation. She can run but she can't hide.

6. I bet. Her reason "to save money" means she reallly believes if she quits she...walks?
It should not surprise me that she believes that if she quits the governorship, all the violations being investigated, or in the works, will simply go away.

Well, this will be a learning experience for her then.

7. How does the Lt Governor (Gov to be) figure in to all this?

He's a rethuglican is he not? Is he more likely to give a wink and a nod to all the investigators or will he be more likely to do what is right? I hope he doesn't give Failin a free pass like Ford gave Tricky Dick. The people of Alaska deserve better. They have been scammed enough.

8. Yes, he's a Republican,
and at least up until now, he has been completely a Sarah suck-up. Notably, he took issue with Lisa Murkowski's press release criticizing Sarah for "abandoning" Alaskans. Reports are he plans to retain Sarah's people, so I really don't have a lot of hope for him.

2. and from I've read about the new charges
they all have to do with her having/taking/claiming moneys that she wasn't entitled to. There are criminal penalties and restitution pending (IMO). These charges can't "go away" just because the ethics investigations of her crimes disolve. I think she's going to be sued by the state of Alaska.

3. I'd still love to find out about that "house".
She made less than 200K a year, supported 7 people (Tawwwd had a "part-time" job with oil buddies).

They have a ton of "cold-weather " toys, utilities have to cost a LOT, and neither of them "come from money"..

Alaska's an expensive place, and a lakefront home sprouting up like an errant mushroom, seems to be an easy thing to look into.

9. Actually, Alaska DOES have a Department of Law
and a shiny new Attorney General (after Talis Colberg was forced to resign and Wayne Anthony Ross was rejected by the legislature) who is recently from the Bush Administration. :puke: Could things go from bad to worse?
