Question: Was McNair's girlfriend taking any SRI drugs?
I believe that is what the Prozac type drugs are called. Seratonin re-uptake inhibitors.
In some of the more notorious incidents in recent years SRIs have been implicated, although one must usually dig really deep in the incident reports to find it.
I seem to remember that the Columbine kids were on Prozac.
Just curious. SRIs seem to pop up in spots like this.

1. The warning is for CHILDREN and SSRIs not adults and she was an adult.
And she was a waitress doubtful she had health insurance and that shit is expensive without it, even on insurance it can be expensive.

4. Am I being mocked? It is a serious question
SSRIs do strange things to people and are prescribed like candy.

6. Sorry
I'm not mocking you. I just always think of the movie Fatal Attraction whenever I hear about an affair gone wrong.
My guess is that even if you find out that she was taking SSRIs, it will be hard to figure whether they played a role in the murder-suicide.

9. My family has personal experience of a gentle person turning very violent
due to SSRIs. SSRIs seem to pop up all the time and their effect continues to be muted. My hunch is that the power of Pharma money and the AMA has something to do with this.

8. I think you are ABSOLUTELY right.
You should NOT be mocked. This class of compounds is DANGEROUS. I don't give a shit what the warning label refers to. I was wondering the very same thing the other day.

I've known people who have major panic attacks with the SSRI drugs. They are bad news, and yes, they are prescribed like they are candy.

3. Nothing that complicated--I think she was just another woman scorned.

Two days before, McNair and the girlfriend were pulled over for DUI in a car registered to the both of them. Knowing that the resulting publicity would get back to his wife, I believe that McNair went to the girlfriend's residence (I call it a residence because he paying for it), and tried to break it off.

5. How about the fact that she had a DUI 2 nights before, and told police at the time
that she was high and not drunk (even though they smelled alcohol on her breath)? Or that she had a major history of childhood trauma, including the reported murder of her mother in Iran when she was 9 and having to flee Iran first to Turkey and then to the US because of severe persecution of the family's Bahai faith? Substance abuse, history of trauma, isolation from family and long-time support network, recent emotional and financial stress...nothing really explains it. Lots of people have comparable stress and don't react as she did. The same goes for most people on SSRIs, and in any case, there have not been any reports of her taking them.

7. That IS a lot of living to do before the age of twenty.

But it's all the more reason why she'd get angry enough to kill the goose who told her she wouldn't be getting any more golden eggs.
