A Short Story Explaining Capitalism
It is the month of August, on the shores of the Black Sea.

It is raining, and the little town looks totally deserted. It is tough times, everybody is
in debt, and everybody lives on credit.

Suddenly, a rich tourist comes to town.

He enters the only hotel, lays a 100 Euro note on the reception counter, and goes to
inspect the rooms upstairs in order to pick one.

The hotel proprietor takes the 100 Euro note and runs to pay his debt to the butcher.

The Butcher takes the 100 Euro note, and runs to pay his debt to the pig grower.

The pig grower takes the 100 Euro note, and runs to pay his debt to the supplier of
his feed and fuel.

The supplier of feed and fuel takes the 100 Euro note and runs to pay his debt to the
town's prostitute that in these hard times, gave her "services" on credit.

The hooker runs to the hotel, and pays off her debt with the 100 Euro note to the
hotel proprietor to pay for the rooms that she rented when she brought her clients
there.

The hotel proprietor then lays the 100 Euro note back on the counter so that the rich
tourist will not suspect anything.

At that moment, the rich tourist comes down after inspecting the rooms, and takes
his 100 Euro note, after saying that he did not like any of the rooms, and leaves town.

No one earned anything. However, the whole town is now without debt, and looks to
the future with a lot of optimism....

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how the United States Government is doing
business today.

1. So you took that from the Hannity Forum. Why not give the site credit for the tale?

10. Thanks for demonstrating your lack of a sense of humor
As for knowledge of economic issues, I'd stack mine against most any day of the week...

9. It was supposed to give one a chuckle...
The actual "economic" system isn't built on anything as tangible as a short visit from a $100 bill...

8. Wow... DUers are now posting right-wing chain emails as OPs?

Dude... The first 10 times I read that, it was sent to me by right-wing loons.

A) You have no grasp of economics if you believe that

B) You actually posted that as if it came from you, with no attribution? That's pathetic.... so you're economically illiterate AND a plagiarist!

and a tendency to call people names without knowing them...

Of course I don't believe it. The capitalist Ponzi scheme laughingly called an economy isn't based on ANYTHING as tangible or useful as a brief visit from a $100 bill...

As for the economy, watch and learn -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVkFb26u9g8

And Obama's buying right into the bullshit...

13. I suspect...
that's been around a lot longer than Hannity.

Just because Hannity has never had an original thought and posts someone else's idea on his website does not make it his.

14. Problem is
You didnt start off the thread with the beginning of the story.

The rich man owns the credit company that initially lent the money to the hotel proprietor at a profit.

The proprietor then in debt goes down to the butcher and promises him 100 dollars if he can have enough to eat for the week.

The butcher, with the IOU from the proprietor, goes down to the pig grower and gives him an IOU.

etc etc all the way down to the beginning of the thread where the rich tourist comes back for his money after inspecting the rooms and takes his moeny back

Youre absolutely right, no one earned anything, except the rich tourist who took his ill gotten money back in the first place.

Anybody starting to wake up to why Profit and Capitalism is bad? Bueller? Bueller? Anyone
