3. Trailer trash who ran out on his responsibility as a father. Perfect guest for tv shows.

8. Trailer trash is an offensive term. Most people who live in trailers have a hard time with low cost
Edited on Mon Jul-13-09 08:44 AM by OmmmSweetOmmm
"acceptable" housing, but that doesn't make them trash.

As to running out on his responsibilities as father, he has done no such thing. Just because he broke up with Bristol, doesn't mean that he abandoned his child. He hasn't and he sees his baby.

12. "Trailer trash" has a specific meaning.
It does not mean "trailer resident."

15. Oh please. I've known wonderful people who have lived in trailers and hated that expression.
Case in point, the DUer who posted below.

I did not call you or your friends trailer trash. You don't like the word ...

23. Your wonderful friends that lived in a trailer park obviously didn't fall into the "trailer trash"
category. Good for them. Some do.

31. You make a good point, but a couple of posters here aren't interested in that.
They've decided they need to vent some steam over an issue of their own invention.

32. I agree
And I hate how the poor are always acceptable targets of demeaning stereotypes, even among 'liberals'. That wouldn't be tolerated against other groups.

Are all white people in the KKK? Are all Colombians murderous members of a cocaine cartel?

5. Levi's about as legit as Palin
They're both gaming the system for personal gain and profit.

It's hilarious that DU'ers who ripped the punk for his "F'ing redneck and proud of it" statements on the web now consider him a credible inside source on all things Palin.

6. The Arabic Saying Holds True...
The enemy of an enemy is my friend.

Just consider it another episode of Palin Place...the wild ride of the Wasilla Hillbilles. As long as her personal life is the focus of media attention and not her politics, she loses.

20. Precisely...if Levi brings out some things on
on palin that distracts her from her power grab then so be it.

It's actually incredible thinking about the 180 degree turn he's made since the big rnc and the subsequent disasterous campaign.

26. She's only 45. That means she's got maybe five more general elections before she's considered
too old to run for president. Her power grab probably hasn't even really begun yet.

7. Although not articulate and not the brightest bulb in the room, he held his own.
The segment began with a quasi hit piece on him, mentioning the offers he's received.

Then Ann Curry interviewed him. She is ingratiating and less venomous than Lauer and was pretty fair with him until the end, when she mentioned asked about him and his future considering the offers that are out there for him.

He said that Palin became different after the campaign, she changed. She didn't have the spark about being Governor. anymore. The fame went to her head. He also said that she was stressed with being Governor. He then brought up the offers she had and how she said that she would like to take the money on deals being offered to her and run. She was being upfront about resigning. He also said he wouldn't vote for her for Pres because if she couldn't take the stress of being Gov, how could she handle being Pres?

25. Only in this country would they
even be talking about "she couldn't take the stress of being gov..how could she could she handle being pres?"

Thanks for the summary, OSO.

Have you seen this from The Daily Beast by Max Blumenthal?

"Palin's Final Insult"..

<snip>>>

"Since her sudden resignation from the Alaskan governor’s office on July 3, Sarah Palin has created a constitutional crisis that could cost state legislators hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxpayers' money to resolve. Palin appointed Lt. Governor Sean Parnell to succeed her, and tapped Lt. Gen. Craig Campbell, the commissioner of the Alaskan Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, to fill Parnell’s post. However, the state legislature had already chosen someone to succeed Parnell in case of an emergency: State Corrections Commissioner Joe Schmidt. To resolve the conflict Palin created, the legislature will almost certainly have to call a special session, an event that could require at least $200,000 to administer."

<snip>>>

"The legislators said they would also use the special session to recover $29 million in federal stimulus grants Palin rejected in May. At the time, Gara and other lawmakers accused Palin of rejecting the money to further her national political ambitions. “I’m worried that the governor has taken this sort of national political stance, which is that she’s going to be the opposite of Barack Obama on everything,” Gara said in May. Now that Palin is on her way out, a bipartisan consensus seems to have emerged on retrieving the funding, which would enable the state to fulfill weatherization and energy-efficiency priorities."

11. Watched it. Another low point for the media
I could not believe how the interviewer was trying to get intelligent statements from someone who really is a simple high school drop out who, were it not for whom he ended up impregnated would have never made it beyond his hometown.

Yeah, she wants to money... no, I don't know if I'll vote for her... yeah, am looking for a modeling job. And all this taking precious 10 min, or so when there are so many more relevant topics?

But, hey, they dedicated hours to MJ so we should not complain.

24. Fifteen minutes of fame for being a total scumbag, and we're currently some of his biggest fans...
Isn't that special? And since he's talking shit about Sarah Palin, we're convinced that he must be telling the truth. We're praying he's telling the truth. We WANT him to be telling the truth. We'll even make up reasons why what he's saying MUST be true.

I wouldn't bet a nickel on the veracity of what he says. A jilted 19 year old will say just about anything in the world to make his ex-girlfriend look bad, and he'll say it to anyone who will listen. We'll eat it all up because he's talking about Sarah Palin's daughter, and by extension (as far as we're concerned) he's talking about Sarah Palin.

Makes me proud.

27. Term 'trailer trash' make kids who live in trailers feel bad
Some of my relatives have lived in 'mobile homes.' The term trailer trash makes children feel very bad about themselves. I've seen it. So I personally won't use the term and recommend those who think it amusing think again.

BTW, trash can live in any kind of housing. Even McMansions.
