They're mad because their racist threads were exposed to daylight, so one of their own went into pajama mode, saying he has the dirt on Kos. The racist comments were picked up by a Vancouver newspaper and printed with credit to FR. They asked the site owner if he approved, and he chose to leave the thread intact. He eventually removed them, but not until the heat got worse.

Likely this is the only place you'll hear of it and it'll fizzle like an Acme sky rocket, leaving the coyote to plunge from the cliff.

I'm following David Shuster on Twitter and no tweets from him. There was a late nite thread, probably during a slumber party from someone's basement, blathering about his Freeper homophobia tweet. Funny stuff....

Anyhow, I'm breathlessly awaiting Call to Action #2 - and I think we just refer to it as #2 since all their stuff is crap anyway.

Somebody exposed the pervasive culture of bigotry they harbor on that site, and they got pissed. so they lash out at the person who exposed rather than examine the pervaise culture of bigotry they foster.

All this means is, the pervaise culture of bigotry will only increase as time goes by. They're bigotted racists and you can find examples of that behaviour not just being tolerated, but also being lauded, in nearly any thread of discussioin on the site.

Is this going to be another batch like yesterday, where you take interest-free loans I made to a third world charity and called it ‘loan-sharking’, and a haiku attacking Bush/Cheney/Brown for not helping African Americans after Hurricane Katrina and call it an “incitement to attack black people”? Or when you found a post where I pilloried Joe Biden for his bankruptcy bill and said he “has to go” (meaning he needed to be primaried) and decided I was calling for his assassination?

Because, really, that was lame. Almost as lame as the accusation I created some 80 or so fake email addresses to create 80 or so fake FR accounts to post 80 or pieces of racism so I could write a story about it.

Like how they turned the story about Bush dodging his military service into being all about CBS's reporting. Sadly, it can be effective.

After a decade and a half online, I’m not surprised I had the occasional moment of silliness left behind me. It happens.

Oh, by the way, The Province is an entirely separate newspaper. Contacting them about this won’t do much to help your cause. Nor will contacting advertising, sales, finance, reader services or community investment.

Publisher and editor-in-chief are your go-to guys, if you must.
