NYT: "Her hair had thinned to the point where she needed emergency help from her hairdresser"
Palin’s Long March to a Short-Notice Resignation

By JIM RUTENBERG and SERGE F. KOVALESKI
Published: July 12, 2009

Gov. Sarah Palin last week at a signing event, for legislation and other items, in the village of McGrath, Alaska.

Almost as soon as she returned home, the once-popular governor was isolated from an increasingly critical Legislature. Lawmakers who had supported her signature effort to develop a natural gas pipeline turned into uncooperative critics.

Ethics complaints mounted, and legal bills followed. At home Ms. Palin was dealing with a teenage daughter who had given birth to a son and broken up with the infant’s father, a baby of her own with special needs and a national news media that was eager to cover it all.

Friends worried that she appeared anxious and underweight. Her hair had thinned to the point where she needed emergency help from her hairdresser and close friend, Jessica Steele.

“Honestly, I think all of it just broke her heart,” Ms. Steele said in an interview at her beauty parlor in Wasilla, the Beehive.

46. I just google until I find the image I like.
There are sites similar to the LOLcats (http://icanhascheezburger.com/) that are for making that sort of thing. The one I posted came from a British site - right click the picture, click Properties and you can copy the URL for the site. My personal non-political demotivational poster site is Despair, Inc. (http://despair.com/) - they were the first ones I remember doing parodies of motivational posters way before anybody else.

that's Yul Brynner in the movie musical "The King and I" from the 1950s or early 1960s.

Yul Brynner won the Oscar for Best Actor.

That little trivia tidbit was brought to you by the letters D and U, and the lucky number 7.

The ears look low in that picture, and the face looks flat, like she might have a flat, wide bridge across the nose. The toddler looks like she might have micronathia (receded or small jaw), too. Palin should have refused to have that little girl placed in that position for a stinking autograph. No one appears to be supporting the child's head. Republicans sure have a sharing their stupidity and lack of concern.

amount of minutes during which we have wasted listening to, or about this ignorant, dangerous nut are lost, gone forever.

I am so thankful we have a compassionate, bright and practical Commander in Chief. It could have turned out very different. Governer Palin would have been a heartbeat away.

12. Geez, and the RW
was making cracks about Joe Biden's hair. :eyes:

It's sounds like Sarah still wants to be President, though. She just wants to get there without all the messy problems entailed in actually working for the job. Guess she figures she can do book tours and tv appearances (no hard questions allowed) and give prepared speeches to pre selected audiences and then just waltz right into the nomination.

I'd turn to an endocrinologist first. And then a shrink.

Underweight and hair falling out sounds like a nutritional problem.

But I completely agree on the shrink.

That she asked for help from the hair dresser doesn't mean that she didn't seek medical advice as well.
Just sayin.'

37. Some hairdressers have a better grasp on this issue than docs. But, in Sarah's
case, she was probably looking for a quick fix way of concealing the fact that her hair was thinning.

You've heard the expression "Still waters run deep?"

Well, Sarah kind of proves it, in a way. She is not still and not deep.

50. She may already have a weave ~ the tricks are so good now

From what I can see, her "hair " as we know it looks thick all over.

So ~ it may be a wig if her hair is that thin.
So many people can't tell a wig from real hair or a weave now.

One day Heidi Klum has hair down to her ankles, the next it is near her cheeks.

Can't happen unless you have lots of wigs ~ most weaves take hours to put in and if you mess with it everyday- it can thin your hair until you must wear a wig.

I don't talk bad about anyone that wears what ever makes them comfortable on their head.

They aren't going under the knife for plastic surgery and they are trying their best to look nice.

My Mom wanted to know why some men now cut their hair all off.

I told her that is their business and it makes them feel better.
She was OK with that ~
