Union official worried Russians could take over Canadian steel plants
I had heard that Putin now owned the local steel mill,so I did a google search. This is one story.

The union representing workers at Evraz Inc. steel-making operations in Regina and Calgary claims the Russian government could seize Evraz's Canadian assets if the company defaults on an $800-million U.S. loan to a Russian bank

The chairman of VneshEconombank, Russia's State Corporation Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs, is Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin. United Steelworkers, which represents workers at Evraz Inc. steel-making operations in Regina and Calgary, is warning that about the possiblity that the Russian government could seize Evraz's oeprations in Canada if it defaults on loans from VneshEconombank.
