Kos: Liz Cheney Media Tour is back // Wash Times: Liz Cheney open to political run
Edited on Mon Jul-13-09 10:34 AM by seafan
Just when The Dick is under the hot lights, too.

From Kos diarist LaurenMonica, July 13, 2009

If you missed Liz Cheney Media Tour the 1st edition, I bet you will enjoy or hate the second one, coming this week only on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC...etc.
When I first heard about the Cheney Story with the secret CIA program, I knew that Liz Cheney will be back in the news. I wasn't wrong because in fact she will be in front line defending her father, starting this week.

Mika (Morning Joe's wannabe Fox anchor) just announced this morning that Liz Cheney will be on Morning Joe. I bet that Liz will co-host the show like the last time she was on. So when Cheney is attacked, he sends his little girl to defend his actions. But one thing always stroke me, it's Liz Cheney being aware of CIA's program so well when she was a State Department employee not a CIA's employee.

After watching Mary Matalin yesterday on CNN's State Of the Union with Wolf Blitzer, I won't be surprised if Liz Cheney claims that those new revelations are in part of Obama, Axelrod & Emanuel's plot against Cheney because according to Matalin "Things are pretty bad for Obama according to the late Poll numbers". So be prepare of an overdose of Liz CHeney on the air and on the cable news. Tomorrow MSNBC, then Fox News, then CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC and again Fox News, she will be every where. I'm sure that she wanted to start her media tour today, on monday, but with the Sotomayor Confirmation Hearings, daddy and Lizzie decided to postpone her Media Tour part 2.

Last week, it was the Michael Jacksonmania, this all week will be dedicated to Miss Elisabeth Cheny, the daughter of our "beloved" (sarcasm here) Ex-Vice-President, Richard Cheney. I think I will miss the Jacksonmania of the last few weeks, because Liz Cheney makes me sick when she is on trying to whitewash her father's actions. Honestly, I even prefer to have Sarah Palin's strange behaviors or Stanford's "forbidden" love with his lover in Argentina played on the airs than Liz's Media blitz.

.....

EXCLUSIVE: Liz Cheney open to political run, July 13, 2009

Yeah, it's the Times.

The daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney said Monday that running for political office is on her horizon.

"It's something I very well may do," said Elizabeth "Liz" Cheney, a lawyer and State Department appointee who has worked on two Republican presidential campaigns.

Ms. Cheney, 44, has emerged as one of the strongest defenders of the effectiveness and legality of Bush-Cheney policies on enhanced interrogation methods. More recently, she and her father have become two of the most outspoken critics of President Obama's position on terrorism and other national security issues, which has led Republicans to consider her a strong candidate for national political office.

Ms. Cheney told The Washington Times America's Morning News that recent new reports that her father ordered the CIA to hide information from Congress and that a government probe could follow appears like political cover for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats who have accused agency Director Leon Panetta of lying.

"It gets more and more appalling everyday," she said. "I think they're very worried about Speaker Pelosi." ((:eyes: :eyes: :eyes:))

She said Monday that her immediate interests are raising her five children and helping her father write his memoirs.

.....

'...helping her father write his memoirs' prepare his defense.

3. State Department appointee?!? WTF?
Your second excerpt calls her a "State Department Appointee". Which implies that she currently is one. Do you know if this is true or just sloppy editing by the Times?

If it's true why is she still there?

BTW great timing by her. Out there in front of god and everybody while the justice dept is debating an investigation of the Dick.

6. She apparently flew the coop at State approximately early 2007.
The Times summarizes:

She has held two State Department appointments. Her first was in the late 1980 before graduating from University of Chicago Law School. The second was in 2002 as a deputy secretary for Near Eastern affairs. Ms. Cheney left to work on her father's 2004 re-election campaign but returned in 2005 in an expanded post as a deputy secretary for economic and political affairs in the Near and Middle East as well as in North Africa.

Ms. Cheney also has worked in for the U.S. Agency for International Development and for a private practice in international law. She is married to Philip Perry, a Department of Homeland Security attorney.

From the January/February 2007 issue of Washington Monthly:

Moving to Foggy Bottom, where Cheney’s progeny has until recently reigned. State Department colleagues aren’t sure what’s become of his daughter, Liz Cheney, promoted in 2005 to principal deputy assistant secretary of state for Near Eastern Affairs and head of the Middle East Partnership Initiative—effectively the czar of promoting democracy in the region. She went on maternity leave last summer and hasn’t returned. Department sources say Cheney fille will not resume leadership of the Partnership Initiative. (That post remains unfilled, as the administration’s democracy promotion goals stumble on multiple fronts.) Liz Cheney is said to be updating the necessary paperwork to become a senior adviser to Condoleezza Rice, but few have seen her in the building.

Her former top aides, deputy assistant secretary for Near Eastern Affairs J. Scott Carpenter and senior advisor David Denehy, both democracy specialists formerly with the International Republican Institute, who did Iraq tours as CPA advisors, are allegedly feeling orphaned during her absence. Denehy is reportedly mulling a move to the vice president’s office to work on Iran. The concern? Since spring 2005, Deneny has overseen the mysterious Iran-Syria Operations Group, conceiving ways to poke at, or perhaps dislodge, the Tehran regime. If Denehy is seconded to Cheney’s office, he’ll take the interagency group farther underground with him. (He’d also join a large group on the axis-of-evil portfolio, including Cheney’s principal deputy assistant for national-security affairs, David Wurmser, national-security advisor John Hannah, both of the neoconservative-hawk persuasion, as is Samantha Ravitch, Cheney’s deputy assistant national-security advisor with responsibility for Iran and North Korea counter-proliferation issues. What the other 84 people working for Cheney do is anyone’s guess.)

How many are still lurking as Cheney's stay-behinds?

This is very disturbing, does she have a background in the Middle East and central Asia? Probably not. Not that that kept the Bush administration from hiring anyone. Remember the American civilians officials in Iraq?

not to mention her role as Daddy's special agent in the State Department-she is another CRIMINAL that deserves INDICTMENTS on many charges...

17. Who helped Kyle Sampson (Alberto Gonzales Chief of Staff) make his career move to DC?
Who set up a venture fund called Middle East Partnership Initiative/MEPI that awarded huge no-bid contracts to entities like SAIC?

Who did the employees of the State Department's Office of Iranian Affairs report to?

Who was "matchmaker" in getting Paul Dundes Wolfowitz hooked up with Shaha Ali Riza at the World Bank as well as a side job with SAIC?

Daddy's girl, Liz Cheney.

For those that want confirmation of these facts, review the links below.

23. When will someone ask Liz about her years at State at the Middle East desk...
...at the time her father was running his black ops, torture programs, illegal domestic surveillance and exposing a deep cover CIA agent working on Iran?

Liz Cheney is No Innocent Bystander. She Was Dick's Mole in the State Department on the Middle East.

What about it, Liz? Are you up for it?

Or is it all, somehow, Pelosi's fault?

Thanks for these links, bobthedrummer.

Glad to see you.
