Fox News suggests Edwards was using Fox to score points with his political base

"We believe there's just no reason for Democrats to give Fox a platform to advance the right-wing agenda while pretending they're objective," said Jonathan Prince, deputy campaign manager for Edwards.

He added that Edwards was "looking forward" to participating in the Democratic debate sponsored by CNN.

Fox News suggested Edwards was using Fox to score points with his political base.

"Sen. Edwards has appeared on FNC more than 30 times, most recently in January. So when exactly did he start having problems with us? When he was polling below 15%?" a Fox News spokesperson asked.

1. So what if he was?
How is that wrong? Why shouldn't anyone use Fox for the purposes of light and truth?

3. He started having problems when the grassroots made it clear that it was a problem.
That's a virtue, not a vice. FOX is just pissed, because their feeble attempts to hide their partisanship are failing, and because Edwards cares more about the opinions of ordinary people, than he does about the media blowhards.

6. It works for me.
That's the name of the game in politics, win people over to your point of view. There's nothing sacred about FOX.

7. Sounds like a good plan to me. Anyone willing to point out...

... what a toxic little cesspool Fox "News" is, is a-ok in my book.

He appeared on Fox when he believed it was to his benefit, and now he believes he can score points by not appearing. It's purely strategic, and not some act of principle; he's aiming to appeal to a certain segment of voters. Let him have at it. It's not like Fox is some real news outlet. On the other hand, niether is CNN or MSNBC, or Time, or The Washington Post.
