Walter Cronkite Speaking on World Goverenment
It seems to many of us that if we are to avoid the eventual catastrophic world conflict we must strengthen the United Nations as a first step toward a world government patterned after our own government with a legislature, executive and judiciary, and police to enforce its international laws and keep the peace.

To do that, of course, we Americans will have to yield up some of our sovereignty. That would be a bitter pill. It would take a lot of courage, a lot of faith in the new order.

But the American colonies did it once and brought forth one of the most nearly perfect unions the world has ever seen.

~~A speech by Walter Cronkite - -
United Nations, national sovereignty and the future of the world - - upon receiving the Norman Cousins Global Governance Award, on October 19, 1999, at the UN Delegates Dining Room

2. The problem is the thought that it must happen without society believing in it.
There are two ways to govern, believing something should be done and that it is better, and doing it in secret with coercion like economic suppression or advancement through non democratic means. Done that way because people wont agree with the position.

Or first spending the time to educate the people and to get their support for something, then doing it in a transparent democratic fashion.

Many people that do things the way explained in the first paragraph may think they are more right then most of the population, and think they can decide for many people. Even in cases where they could be right, that system leads to tyranny where later leaders would take advantage of it for self privilege or to advantage those within their bias.

The problem with many globalization ideas is they are done in secret before people agree to them, and they are done to profit a few not for the good of most of society.

our constitution is far superior to anything the UN could come up with. it would be a recipe for disaster.
